Respected Ophthalmologists are requested to share with us on what is the mechanism of seeing inside and on the outside.
There are multiple angles through which we can see the universe. Each of these angles is an expansive system that disguises the universe according to the angle in which we choose to see it. If one were to classify these angles, then fundamentally, there are two layers through which we see. While one layer is that upon which universe is created, the other layer resembles a tree with multiple branches. One’s unawareness of the existence of the first layer led to the manifestation of the second layer. This unawareness conceals the universe that is illuminated with Divine light from one’s sight. Hence, what is visible to them, and what they see, are not reality.
An individual thinks that they are observing things outside of them, and this perception creates an angle that makes them feel that they are seeing everything outside. For example, the earth, sky, moon, sun, stars, spaces inhabited by life, destinations near and far, and all other creations – one does not wonder about where they are actually seeing all those things that they observe on the outside. A veil is drawn, shifting one’s focus away from observing the true side of things, and they are shown a side that is referred to as ‘illusion’.
Respected friends! The eye does not observe anything on the outside; rather, it observes what one is seeing inside*(reflection). A camera can help us understand how the mechanism of sight functions. The reflection of something first appears on the lens of the camera. Then, when the shutter button is pressed, an impression forms on the screen. As we are dominated by the angle of seeing things externally, we assume that the camera’s eye is its screen. Whereas, the camera’s eye is the lens that is inside it. It is the lens that absorbs the reflection, and inverts it onto the screen of the camera.
The opening and shutting of the shutter play a pivotal role in the system of vision. If the shutter did not open, the reflection of the scene would not appear on the lens, and if the shutter did not close, the lens would not save the reflection. That is, what the lens saw would not appear on the screen of the camera. Mankind invented the camera based on the functions of the eye; the same system operates when the reel of life appears on the screen of earth.
Highly intelligent, perceptive, wise, and discerning ladies and gentlemen! Perform this exercise.
1. We experience thirst so that satiation manifests over the dryness we feel. Concentrate and look inside your brain. When the need to quench one’s thirst deepens, the impression of water begins to form on the screen of the brain. The impressions become so prominent that the springs hidden under the veil of earth reveal their existence to those who want to quench their thirst. Amongst the millions of chambers of images, one chamber opens up and all of us – you, me, the sky, earth, trees, birds, insects – see the image of water inside it. One will not drink water if the image of water does not appear on the screen of their brain.
2. Bring both your eyelashes together (Yak jaan* (Close your eyes. Not so hard that you feel pressure on the eye balls)) for three minutes. As there is no movement in the eyelashes it seems like nothing is visible, however, deep behind the eyes, on one unit of the brain, a reflection appears. Focus on the example of water. Let’s say, Zaid is thirsty. Until the impression of thirst is formed, the thirst will not be quenched. Just as a reflection appears in a mirror, similarly a reflection appears on the pupil of the eye, and everything can be seen on it as images. However, when one blinks, the image that is formed inside fades, and we consider this as an act of ‘not seeing’, while it is so.
An important part of the top and button edges of an eye that beautify it, are the eyelashes. The reflections that appear on the eye – are they not due to eyelashes? The process of opening and shutting of eyelashes is in fact a process of dividing space. Mankind observes everything by dividing space into smaller units. When one blinks once, they save only a moment of a scene; this moment could be a 1000th unit of time (millisecond).
When the top and bottom eyelashes, which we can refer to as the positive and the negative, absorb inside each other (unite), duality ceases to exist and though it seems like the lens inside the eye does not see anything, it does see. When the edges of both the eyelashes meet, the angle of seeing externally is suspended, however, the process of seeing continues. We could say that when the eyelashes became one, duality ends, the scenes of duality disappear, and the journey through the singularity of angles begins. As we have no practice of seeing the scenes of singularity, we declare that darkness has prevailed. After a while, the world on the other side of darkness becomes the focus of the eye.
We see inside, however as we have accepted the illusory thinking pattern, we think we are seeing on the outside. The impressions of what we see gets transferred on to the screen of the brain. We see what is on the screen of the brain, however, due to our ignorance, we presume that we are seeing through our eyes. If the images do not appear on the screen of the seeing with our eyes closed, then we cannot see with our eyes open too.
There are different ways of seeing; seeing in the state of wakefulness, inside our brain, visualizing, in our dreams, feeling the sixth sense, In the hereafter after our death, and inside our heart. The process is the same in all methods, which is that mankind sees whatever they are seeing, on the inside. However, as they are unaware of this fact, they express the process of seeing in various ways. But when they gain awareness, the veil of illusion over their senses gets lifted, and their heart becomes their eye. This mode of seeing is common in all creatures and it is on the basis of this that they attained the consciousness of Roz-e-Azal* (When God Almighty wanted this universe to cognize Him, He stated – “Alastu bi Rabbikum (Am I not your Lord?”). for more details. Dear readers, without blinking your eyelashes see within yourself. When we see on the inside, secrets unravel that though everything is individualistic, the consciousness in them is collective. The collective consciousness is that the Supreme Being that created the universe is One, and it is He who manifested “Kun Fayakun (Be, and it became).” The creations are manifested on the same foundation upon which they existed before their manifestation. This foundation is God’s will, and this is the collective consciousness of the creatures. God Almighty states:
“But His command, when He intendeth a thing, is only that He saith unto it: Be! And it is.” (Quran, 36:82)

The mode of seeing depends on the inner and outer mechanism of the eye. Every creature in fact is seeing the observations of other creatures. However, when one sees something, they assume that they are seeing things themselves
