There are millions and billions of creatures in the universe. While some of them are visible, many are not. However, when one thinks about these invisible creatures, they begin to feel them. Feeling them proves that they exist, because every creature that is in existence has form and features; this is the basis for individuality.
There are innumerable worlds in this universe. The garments of creatures in these worlds have a certain element dominant in them, such as, soil, fire, air, or water. While the element of soil is prevalent in our world, the element of fire is dominant in the world of Jinn. In another world, the garment is transparent like water and in yet another, the creations are encased in gas. Nonetheless, these four elements are present in every world in lower or higher proportions.
Readers! Like creatures, our thoughts, emotions, experience, and feelings also have forms*. (figure). They affect us because they have a shape, feature, and a system that governs their body. Just as an individual moves into adulthood, so does hatred and love. Love and hatred manifest too. Love makes the heart its abode whereas hatred transforms into an image of decay. Both love and hatred breathe, experience hunger and thirst, sleep and wake, multiply in number, passthrough adolescence, death. If love did not have form and features, then one would not feel it. Similarly, if hatred did not have a shape and form, this world would be home to peace.
Just like us, all other creatures breathe, eat, drink, reproduce, play a role in keeping the system and ecosystem of this world in operation, and display their consciousness much more than mankind, who is unaware of their status.
· Mountains are mineral reserves. To stop the earth from shrinking, they work as pegs. Though mountains breathe like mankind, and float like clouds, we are unable to see this. Just as mankind laughs and talks, the mountains express their existence too. They send waves to far distances and invite daring ones to climb them. Like mankind, mountains pass through the cycle of life and death; their lifespan being a maximum of ten thousand years. God Almighty presented His trust to the mountains, and they humbly apologized saying, “If we accept this trust upon us, we will be reduced to rubble.”
· Mosquitoes are intelligent insects. They make a hole inside the body by poking a needle, suck blood, and then seal the hole with their saliva. As a result, the part that was bitten, swells up, which forces the body to heal quicker and the hole closes. The mosquito has an inherent skill and consciousness to ‘close the hole’ after it has obtained its nourishment, else, the blood would continue to ooze out.
· The honeybee sits in flowers, and like an injection, it extracts nectar and drink it. However, it has the intelligence to avoid spoiled flowers. The bees follow a law that persists amongst them; when they arrive at the hive with the nectar from flowers, the guards smell them before they can enter the mansion* (Beehive). If the nectar is impure, then it is the queen’s command that the bee that carries such nectar be killed. According to the Holy Quran, Wahi (Divine revelation) descends upon a honeybee. Descent of Wahi upon a honeybee proves that they have a consciousness, and the consciousness is proof that they have the ability to receive Wahi within them.
· Why does a dog bark when it sees people? It is because people fear them. When a dog witnesses fear inside a person, it feels that they may cause harm to them, and hence it barks to express its terror. A dog is a loyal animal and has such a level of consciousness that it howls to alert mankind before any calamities befall upon them.
· The spiritual eye sees that there are various types of viruses in the environment. The viruses roam about like pigeons and flies. Though these viruses and bacteria are not visible, scientists see them through a microscope, and describe their forms and features. There are various types of bacteria that protect the body and those that cause harm too. Bacteria fly around just like birds and eat and drink too. Though one’s inner eye perceives this, they do not see what their inner eye perceives. However, those who have the ability to see in Alam-e-Bala (heavenly realm), witness this.
· The sea and air are creatures too. The wind splashes water from the sea, takes it ten to twenty feet high in the air, before crashing it down again. The question is, why are the waves forced to come down after going upwards? The sea has a surge inside it and the surge is a form too. It is due to this surge that the water rises high up, but gravity pulls it down towards itself. Gravity is an existence too that passes through the cycle of life and death.
· The earth is alive. It expands and shrinks, and moves in a circle and revolves. Countless species are born, grow, and die inside it.
Reflecting on the Divine system reveals to us that the space around us is inhabited by both visible creatures. Flies, mosquitoes, virus, bacteria, cows, elephants, giraffe, neem trees, the moon, iron, copper, mountains, seas, rivers, air, oxygen, and carbon, are all creatures with form and features. They experience hunger and thirst, sleep and wakefulness, have males and females among them, and their lineage continue to thrive.
Those who are reading this editorial, pay attention! No creature in this universe is free from the process of birth. Even a virus is born, grows, has a lineage and a thriving population, steps into adulthood and dies, and in the end, returns to Alam-e-Bala.
There are secrets revealed in what you have just read. In this editorial, all those things that have been mentioned and those that are not, are living creatures that live a lifespan and die; however, they leave a lineage behind. Their form and features are their identity. Their identity appears, disappears, appears again, and then disappears; however, the system of identification remains intact. It is worth reflecting: by keeping this system operational, what does God Almighty want from His creatures?
It is inscribed in the Hadith-e-Qudsi:
“I was a hidden treasure. Hence, with love, I created creatures, so that I am cognized.”
To cognize Him, it is important for the creatures to exist. To be able to distinguish them, they needed to have form and features and despite having common form and features, each individual should be distinct. God ordained, “Kun (Be),” and the programme that was in His will appeared, and everything came into existence.
The creatures felt their existence and a though came to their minds, “Who am I? Who created me?” With these questions, the process of cognition began. Every creature knows God, but His cognition is concealed from them. One can cognize the Lordship of God, by reflecting on the system – where everything that exists appears from the unseen world and returns to it. The moon, sun, stars, galactic systems, the birth and fading of desires, the cycle of life and death, the process for the dispersal of resources, and as many creations as there, though they are all different in external appearance, are the same on the inside. They are the countless pathways of cognizing God.

= Aadmi is unaware whereas Insan is aware of the attributes of soul.) are two different layers or existence. Insan accepts the Lordship of God with certitude, whereas Aadmi represents the acceptance of disobedience.
