Assalam o Alykum!
In the name of Allah, the
most Beneficent and the Merciful.
One thing that keeps a man
alive and tempts him to choose between good or bad or express one's liking for
something are the feelings and emotions of a person. These are the states,
which he feels but has no realization of them.
All that Waqar Yousaf has
said to you just now, I think he said because I don't have the nerves like
before. It is due to my age. Earlier I would fall sick once in a year for two
three days and would get well. But, now I get sick more often, And, due to my
sickness or due to my deteriorating health, being my son, my blood and child, it's
but natural to be worried about my health, when he had already suffered a loss.
Though I don't think so because when Allah selects a person for a task, one
cannot leave this world unless the task is not completed. He cannot be freed
from this world even if he desires.
Allah has made a cosmic
system. A system that contains every individual creature, every leaf of a tree,
every petal of a flower, species of bird, beasts and cattle, trees, particles
and strata of earth. Mountains, minerals, plants, heavens, angels, jinn, hell
and paradise, Arsh (High Throne), Kursi (Control Room), Bait ul Mamoor (Inhabited House), Sidratul Minteha (Last Lote-Tree), Muqam e Mehmood (Praised Station) or Hijab e Azmat (The Grand Veil) are the parts
and components of the systems operating in the universal system established by
Allah. The machine stops if any one of the parts is taken out. Machine will
stop, that is, the action of kun
(Be!) will come to an end. This is a system of Allah and every individual has
to perform his duty in this system.
You may say, Allah has staged
a drama. When you watch a drama, you see background screens changing, curtains
are drawn and lifted, stage colors also change. Every individual has a role to
play in this cosmic system, or to say, every individual is performing his/her
role as an actor or an actress. Drama is complete only when there is justice
and injustice, tyranny and mercy, good and bad, heat and cold, winds and
cyclones, high and low tides of oceans, moonlight and sunlight, everything should
be there. The drama keeps going on and the characters keep changing. You see
fathers dying and being replaced by others. How many mothers go down to the
earth and more mothers appear on the screen. Those who are kids today become
parents tomorrow and mothers grow old and rest in graves and their children
become parents of two, three, four or ten children.
Everyone on the stage of this
worldly system, has its own role, which he must perform whether he wants it or
not. He must do one or the other thing, willingly or unwillingly. This drama
cannot complete without its characters performing their roles. One is
performing his role willingly and happily and, the other one is doing it
unwillingly and not wanting it. Those who are performing their role in the
drama staged by Allah unwillingly are disliked by Allah and His system. But,
Allah likes them who do their part of the job willingly and enthusiastically.
When the role of a character
comes under discussion, it can be concluded that every character is spending
himself to perform his role. For instance, a child is born today. He, actually
is not increasing, in fact, he is decreasing. If a child is to live for sixty
years, after his birth every minute, every hour, every day and night, every
month and year is being deducted from his appointed tenure of sixty years. But,
we think the child is growing. No, in fact, his remaining age is decreasing. If
he has to live for sixty years, after one year, he will have fifty-nine years
to live. One year has lessened from his total age. When he grew to be ten years
of age, he is left with fifty years. And, when he grows to be twenty years of
age, his remaining age will decrease to forty years. Thus, all that exists here
is actually decreasing and we think it is increasing. If this decrease is obligatory,
that is, he is not aware of his decrease and is obliged to decrease, it is not
liked by Allah. But, if this decrease is according to the will and pleasure of Allah,
then the decrease of each and every moment is a sacrifice for the universe.
Every character in this drama
plays his role and leaves the stage and another character takes his place. That
means every character is sacrificing to bring charm to the drama. Thus, it can
be said that all the creatures that have so far been born and all those
creatures that have died, have played their role in maintaining life on this
earth and the growth of plants and trees and sacrificed to improve the quality.
And thus life in this universe became radiant. You might have noticed that no land produces
better without manure. When we sow a seed, we use fertilizers. What is this
fertilizer?
In actual effect, manure is
the sacrifice of the seed. When the plant, grass or fodder grow from that seed
and is consumed by cows, bulls, buffalos and other cattle. Manure is made from
their dung. That means, the grass and plants playing their role sacrificed so
that more seeds could grow.
Everything here is based upon
sacrifice. Air...air is sacrificing to provide life to the creatures of Allah.
Water is sacrificing to irrigate and quench the thirst. Oxygen is sacrificing
to give life to a dying person. And, sacrifice of a spiritual person is to give
his life and each and every drop of his blood for the creatures of Allah. If a
servant of God, a blessed servant of God doesn't sacrifice every drop of his
blood for the creatures of Allah, he cannot be a friend of Allah. Because the
entire universe is the sacrifice of Allah. Allah doesn't eat, drink, sleep,
awake nor has any offspring, wife, relatives or family. But is sacrificing to
provide sustenance to creatures. Providing them with food to eat, things to
drink, providing them spouses and children. Allah is serving his creatures all
the time. Allah is serving His creatures without sparing even a minute.
When God makes us to say...Alhamdulillah rabbul Aalemeen... Rab
means someone who thinks nothing but the sacrifice for the worlds. Allah thinks
only one thing, how can He benefit His creatures. How His creatures can be
protected. The earth should neither get so hard that His creatures may stumble
and be injured, nor it be so soft that creatures' feet get stuck in there. Allah
also wants that there be no dearth in sustenance for creatures. There was a
time when only a few creatures were there on this planet and now, you know the
population has exceeded over five billion people on the known area of the
earth. Don't know how much population is still to be discovered.
It is such a system of Allah
where the needs of the creatures are being met automatically and this is the sacrifice
on the part of Allah and that of the universe created by Him and of those
servants of Allah who are running the system of the universe. It is a good
thing to think that a person is working so hard. It's good to have good
sentiments for the elders but they are duty bound to consecrate for others. But
if you have established a relation with such a person, knowingly or
unknowingly, willingly or unwillingly, you have to have that sense of sacrifice
in you, which has been blessed to that person.
It is admitted that all
cannot be same, all cannot be wrestlers, all cannot be not weak, all cannot not
strong, all can't be stout, some are short, some are high, some are well built,
and some are not, but whatever is the role one is playing, he has to know this
law that there is nothing but sacrifice.
Man is born, tiny and has no
idea what he is doing, where he is going, what he is eating, and his childhood
is over in that playful ignorance. Childhood is sacrificed, without having any
awareness that childhood is sacrificed. Now he is bit grown up, has awareness, studies,
and starts serving his parents, running small errands for his parents and
siblings. This sacrifice is not yet over that he gets married and gets involved
in that. Husband sacrifices for wife and wife sacrifices for husband. In a
short time, they have children and both parents start sacrificing for the kids.
Kids grow up and their responsibilities are met or not, the earth says, ok,
your part is over and now your children will sacrifice. You come to me and
rest. And the earth takes him and as the tree leaves, grass and fodder is
turned into manure, similarly, the man's flesh is eaten away by the earth and
is turned into manure and this manure starts producing human beings again.
It is earth's sacrifice that
individual produced by it, be it a goat, cow or a man, it takes it back without
leaving a trace behind and new thing is produced. Only purpose of spiritualism
is to make us aware that Allah has created man to sacrifice for others. Whether
he acknowledges it or not, but every moment of his life is spent in sacrificing
for other in the real sense of sacrifice.
Events and incidents of all
the prophets are there before Muslims. And, we have heard from elders and
studied about the life of holy prophet (PBUH). He was from a well-off family.
His family was the custodian of the House of Allah. He was Hashmi; a very
respectable family. But, when he attempted to correct the wrong man-made system,
people got after him. Holy Prophet (PBUH) suffered a lot, stones were cast upon
him and he bleed, too, thrones were
thrown in his way. Entrails of camel were tied around his neck to kill him while
he was prostrating in Kaaba. He was socially boycotted, and his water supply
was cut off. Children were denied any food and they fainted due to hunger. So
much so, he was extradited from Makkah but he didn't leave Allah' path.
Why did he not leave? Because
he was aware of the Law made by Allah that his life was nothing but sacrifice.
I shall sacrifice the way Allah is consecrating being the Lord of the worlds.
Being Mercy for the worlds, my sacrifice is no different than Allah's. And, this
has been stated by Allah, (Arabic text) (Surah Fatah: 10)
One that places his hand,
over the hand of My Apostle Mohammad (PBUH), he places his hand over Allah's Hand.
One who loves my beloved Mohammad loves Allah. And, he doesn't love Allah,
Allah loves him and makes him His beloved. Why? Because the sacrifice that
Allah does for His creatures was also done by Apostle of Allah, Mohammad (PBUH)
and for his sacrifice, he became Mercy for the worlds. And, Allah announced,
(Arabic text) (Surah Al-anbiya: 107) "O my Beloved Apostle Mohammad, We
have made you Mercy for the worlds. I am the Lord of the worlds and I do not
eat or drink, sleep or wake up, nor do have wife or kids. I am to serve and
consecrate and provide sustenance to my creatures."
And, since you have
consecrated the way, I consecrate for my creatures. I am being the Lord of the
world producing resources for my creatures as long as they have to live and you
will keep on distributing mercifully amongst my creatures. (Arabic Text) I will
be creating and producing the resources because I didn't ask the creatures before
their creation whether they want to come into being or not. I created them as I
willed and produced needs of life, urges and feelings. Since I created them
with needs and urges and their lives cannot be sustained without resources so I
took the responsibility of providing sustenance till the universe and the
worlds exist. And, there is no section of needs of the creatures that has ever
faulted.
But since I do not eat,
drink, sleep or awake nor do I have wife or kids and O Mohammad, due to the
humanistic nature you eat, drink, sleep and awake and have wife and kids and do
business, so you are aware of the needs of the creatures. Therefore, I have
assigned the responsibility of the distribution of the resources amongst the
creatures to you. Since you are aware of the needs like eating, drinking, sleeping
and awakening you know the need for and importance of the resources.
Thus, the consecration which
the holy Prophet (PBUH) did for the sake of Allah and left his native city and
went up to the Cave of Hira and pondered
upon the signs of Allah. And, heard the talks of his relatives, some called him
lunatic, some called him sorcerer. When he went to Taif, people threw stones at
him, saying; a lunatic insane has come. They cast so many stones at him that he
started bleeding and his blood soaked his shoes. But, the Prophet of Allah, Allah's
Beloved (PBUH) didn't desist from consecration. His consecration was so much
liked by Allah that not only he was declared the Mercy for the worlds but also completed
his deen for him. Deen means all the blessings of Allah,
which, in fact, are the treasures of the universe, formulae of the universe and
the creative elements of the universe. Allah introduced him with all of them
and said, "O' Mohammad (PBUH) since you have consecrated the way I do it
for My creatures therefore, (Arabic text) (Surah Almiada: 3)
"O Apostle! This Day I
perfected your system for you, completed My favors upon you, and have chosen
Islam for you as the way of life."
Allah was pleased of His
Apostle's consecration, and the love for the creatures of Allah, which Allah
has for His creatures and adopted all the traits and habits of Allah and
practiced them.
You are observing the system
of Allah. A child is born. There is no ventilation, no water supply and,
ostensibly, no diet supply but still the child is growing in the womb of his
mother. Isn't this the consecration of Allah? This is how God is consecrating.
(Arabic text)(Surah Aly
Imran: 06)
Allah says, Look! How do we
portray pictures in the wombs. How beautiful pictures are drawn. It's mother's
consecration that she feeds her baby with her blood with pleasure for nine
months. And, when the child is born, for quarter and two years she nurses him
by her breasts, transferring her blood into milk. Isn't this consecration and
sacrifice of a mother? Father labors in heat and cold, since morning till
evening, in sun and rain to grow his kids and to adorn them with good education
and takes care of their health. Isn't this the sacrifice of a father?
If we ponder to understand
the universe, it can be concluded in one word, 'Sacrifice' i.e. the universe is
another name of sacrifice.
Hazor Qalandar Baba Auliya
before his demise had told me three things. One was about me, so there is no
use to tell it to you. The other things which he had said were: Khwaja Sahib,
remember faqeer by cast is a chammar (low cast-cobbler). He is not Sayed, Pathan, Khan, Quraishi, Ansari,
Siddiqui, Usmani etc. And, fatigue
duties befall upon him from sky. He is to serve and complete the fatigues. And,
the second thing he said, "Khwaja Sahib, remember the mission-oriented
people are crazy for their mission. They don't have intellect or sense. When
there is sense, they will be no longer crazy and the mission will fail.
Therefore, a missionary knows nothing but devotion and consecration. He also
said, to adopt someone you must lose yourself. You won't gain unless you lose
yourself. A child cannot grow if his mother doesn't feed her blood to him. The
child only grows when his mother puts her blood into his mouth in the form of
her milk.
Craziness is such a thing in
which one doesn't bother what others have done for him. He only thinks, what he
can do for others and what has he done for others and why he hasn't done for
others. It never occurs to him, what others can do for him. He only knows what
he can do for others.
Qalandar Baba Auliya used to
say, Strange is the relation between the mentor and a disciple. Disciple
doesn't know what his mentor is doing for him. It's a blind track. Disciple
thinks he loves his mentor whereas, actually, it is the other way round.
I used to think that I love
my mentor the most. No one loves him more than me. These things kept on coming
to my mind. And, all these things were also known to him so one day, he called
me and, sat me by his side and said, Khwaja Sahib have you ever seen a magnet?
Yes, I have seen the magnet,
I had replied. Have you seen the iron? He asked me.
Yes, I have seen that too,
was my reply. Have you ever seen that the iron had attracted the magnet? He had
asked me.
No, I haven't seen that, I
had submitted.
Then how a disciple can claim
to love his mentor, when the iron cannot attract the magnet? he had said. Actually,
mentor loves his disciple, when the reflection of that love enters the disciple,
he considers that he is loving his mentor. Magnet attracts the iron but the
iron thinks that he is advancing towards the magnet. If the magnet is taken off
the iron cannot move, he had added.
Likewise, mentor is loving
the disciple. He is consecrating for the disciple and the disciple is thinking
that he is running towards his mentor. No one can run unless this attraction is
not there. Now, some have come from Abbotabad, some have come from Peshawar.
Just as Waqar sahib said, in
this cold weather you have come here in this wilderness, leaving the luxuries
of your homes. Why? There is some attraction. The magnet is pulling you. This
magnet is Qalandar Baba Auliya. It is drawing me and you. And, you are
considering that you have come from Peshawar. Months pass by and we seldom
visit even our neighbors. It happens we meet one another on our way and
exchange greetings, and one goes on his way and other goes his way.
And here people are going to
Makah and Medina in groups spending their money. Taking all the pains and
spending months in staying there. I have seen in Medina, people are sitting
watching the Green Doom and the Mausoleum of the holy Prophet (PBUH) with a transfixed
gaze.
Let me tell you, my condition.
I went there, offered Salaam and did all that I could. Performed Muraqba and
sat there. Came back had a glass of water and again went in and, sat down in an
another row. Had a round in the Mosque and again sat down. Watching the
Mausoleum. What is making me to be there? I thought. I had done all what I could,
I have offered Prayers, said salaam and still I am linger on there. There isn't
anything else to see except the Doom. Then I understood what Qalandar Baba
Auliya had said, Magnet attracts the iron, iron has no power to pull the
magnet. It occurred to me that the holy Prophet (PBUH) is a huge magnet. He is
second to Allah.
If Allah is the Creator of
the universe and has created the universe and is creating resources for the
creatures, holy Prophet (PBUH) is distributing those resources amongst the
creatures. If these resources are not distributed the creature will perish. It
is his blessing that the resources are distributed justly. Air is being
distributed, water is provided, land is provided, and the lights of moon and
sun are distributed freely. Everything is available freely.
Just think of the electricity
operating your body machine, that energy is supplied to you free of any cost.
No switch, no connection. No need to switch it on or off but the machine is
still operating. Each part of the body machine is functioning. Kidneys are
functioning and intestines are operating. Not a single part is defunct. You run
your hand all over and find no apparent connection of wires. Not even under your
feet any current is felt. You touch the ground and feel no current. You may
sway your hand all around but will not touch any wire. But, the machine is
still operating. Why is it running? How is it running? From where it is being
operated?
In fact, it's a magnetic
field. Allah is the magnet And, holy Prophet (PBUH) is its magnetic field. Anwar (luminescence), waves and lights
of Allah are circulating in this Magnetic Field, which is feeding many people
and making them to move around. After the holy Prophet (PBUH), dear people of
Allah; Auliya like Qalandar Baba Auliya and Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Qalandar Bu
Ali Shah of Panipat, Khwaja Ghareeb Nawaz et al. are the wires of this magnetic
field. These wires are emitting charge and are disseminating it in the universe.
Allah has said, "There
are people because of whom I cause the rains, grow crops and if they say
something depending upon me, it becomes mandatory for me to fulfill it."
Once I was sitting beside
Qalandar Baba Auliya. It was after the evening Prayer. My inner eye saw that
there are so many spiral springs and gears moving in Qalandar Baba Auliya like
the ones you might have seen in a watch. Wires are tied to these spiral springs
and these wires are attached with sky, angels, jinn and sun etc. His mind is working,
and the wires are moving at his will and each wire is moving one or the other
creature. Waves of lights are coming in him from above. Gushing lights are
pouring in him. I saw four waterfall like channels of light falling in him and
those four channels of lights were entering his mind as if drops of water are
put in a glass through a dropper. The wireless electric system in him activated
by these waves. I saw each circle tied with a creature. There were circles
encompassing a full realm. Many circles were comprising of realms. What was
that?
Allah is the Magnet.
Holy Prophet is the magnetic field, and the lights of that magnetic field are
the Auliya Allah like Qalandar Baba Auliya. When I asked Qalandar Baba Auliya,
what was that which I saw? He smiled and said smilingly, "There are one
billion solar systems in a galaxy with thirteen billion planetary systems...
when I work, I work in every system independently, in each realm. I asked,
"This much capacity! There must be angels too accordingly and much work is
to be done."
He replied,
"Yes, it's my routine work to listen to twenty to thirty five angels
simultaneously and order them." I asked, "It's such a huge system,
how do you manage all that?"
"Khwaja Sahib,
there is file work in the universe. My speed of running this system is ten
million files per hour. I study, give orders and sign ten million files in an
hour and dispose them off.
You see, running such a vast
system and that too with an empty stomach. He used to have quite less food.
Just two loaves of bread in a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.
This is much consecration and sacrifice. What else it can be called?
Gist of the teachings of the
Silsila Azeemiya is that an Azeemi is nothing but consecration and sacrifice.
If there is no sacrifice in an Azeemi, he is either not an azeemi or is a raw
one. If you want to be an Azeemi, and you have to have some place in the
system, you want some recognition in the court of the holy Prophet (PBUH) and
have to have the cognition of Allah then, you just have to do one thing.
Consecrate and sacrifice for the world. Never ask anything for yourself. If you
could adopt this way, which is the personal way of Qalandar Baba Auliya, you
will succeed. And, if you couldn't do that then, this all is just a festivity
and a social gathering. You are delighted to participate and enjoy your social
life being a social animal. An animal that wants to live the life in seeing one
another, dine together and have a chat. Some people are fond of chess and many
gather to watch and play chess. Some are fond of drinking, and they gather to
wine and dine. Some are fond of listening to sermons and they get together. Likewise,
some just gather around a mentor. But, this is of no use.
I would reiterate that
consecration and sacrifice of Qalandar Baba Auliya should be transferred to
you. It is the consecration of Qalandar Baba Auliya that no one should have any
expectation from others, which include the mentor, wife, husband, children,
friends and relatives. You must think about others; be it your son, daughter,
mother, father, wife, husband or anyone else. What can you do for them even at
the cost of taking pain and stress. People might be thinking that you are
insane or have no sense. But if you adopted it as a habit. What to adopt? You
are already doing that for the universe, losing day in and day out but when
start doing consecration willfully then your friendship with Allah is
confirmed.
Allah has said, (Arabic text)
(Surah Ikhlas)
"O' Prophet! Say, Allah
is one, not many, not two not three not four. He is one and only. He is not
needy. Has no urges like having bread, drinking water or wearing clothes. He
has no such urge. He doesn't even want His creatures to acknowledge Him their
Lord because He is providing water to them. Allah is providing water to faithless,
infidels and friends alike. We must have seen when it rains, it showers upon
the mountains and plains alike. It never sees whether it will be turning into
mud or will only be washing the hard rocks. Just like the rain that showers
everywhere, mercy of Allah also showers everywhere. Allahus samad... He is free of any needs... He begets not nor is He
begotten and (arabic Text) has no family as well."
Qalandar Baba Auliya defining
this Surah says that Allah has stated
His Lineage in this Surah, has introduced Him, what He is. Simple and straight
thing is man cannot be one, there must be many of them. Man is obliged to be
someone's offspring and is also obliged to father someone. And, is also obliged
to have a family. He is obliged to have needs and urges. Whereas, Allah has no
urges or needs. Hasn't have a son, nor any father or any family. Creatures
cannot do anything in this regard but Allahus
samad... Allah is free from any want or need. Of whose wants is He free? Of
whose need He hasn't? He has no need associated with His creatures. If the
creatures could associate their needs with Allah, they can befriend Allah
because Allah has no needs or urges of His creatures therefore, when the
creatures dissociate them from other creatures and have no expectations from
others but from Allah; the one and only. And, when the creatures have all the expectations
from Allah, He is obliged to provide sustenance to His creatures because, He
wants them to live.
The main point of today's
discourse is that it is the mission of Qalandar Baba Auliya that we must
consecrate and sacrifice for the creatures for the sake of Allah. And, for that
you must have no expectation from any creature, be it your brother, sister,
son, wife or husband. If you have to have any expectation, have it from Allah.
Only Allah grants us. Who granted your son, who made your mother, who provides
resources? Allah does. When we are using the resources provided by Allah then,
why not expect from Him as well.
We associate our expectations
with people. So and so will help me, if I am blessed with a son my linage would
continue and he will be a support in my old age. When the time comes, he
supports or not that's only known to Allah. Blessed are those whose children
support them in their old age otherwise, who cares. Blessed are those who
depend upon Allah and Allah supports them. When the children see that their
father is not expecting anything from them. Father always wants to do something
good for his children whether children return the favors or not. Anyway, the
children are after all children, they have their father's blood in their veins
and also the thinking approach of their father is working in them, so they also
consecrate for their father and, if their mother also has the same traits, they
do not hesitate to sacrifice for her, too.
Whereas the general situation
in present times is that a younger brother has expectations from his elder
brother, elder one is expecting from the younger one, wife is expecting from
her husband and the husband is having expectations from his wife and the One
who could fulfill the expectations, no one is paying attention to Him.
Qalandar Baba Auliya used to
say, Allah is such an exalted and glorious that if some has one hundred
thousand expectations from Him daily, He can fulfill them all. It is quite a
petty thing for Him to fulfill a hundred thousand wishes of a person every day.
But we don't want to associate even a single wish with Him. Creatures are
entwined in creatures. Spirituality tells that creatures are to serve other
creatures. Creatures are not to expect from creature but to serve them.
One stanza that was related
to me by Qalandar Baba Auliya. This is the stanza of a great Sufi Sarmad, who
was there in the era of Aurangzeb. He used to say, La illah...
means there is no God. Aurangzeb arrested him and he was presented before him in
his court. And, charged him for infidelity that he didn't rehearse the full
creed but says only La illah (There
is no God).
Sarmad said, "No, how
can it be infidelity, when I haven't seen Allah, how can I acknowledge
Him."
No one can see Allah,
Aurangzed said.
Ok. No one can see Him but
can't He show Himself?, Sarmad inquired.
Yes he can. Aurangzeb had to
admit.
Fine. When He will show
Himself I will say illallah...(Except
Allah) And, as long as He will not let me see Him, I will keep on saying La Illah. When he is not exhibiting Him
to me why should I acknowledge Him falsely. I cannot testify. I will not be a
hypocrite. I haven't seen Him so I won't confess. So I'll keep on saying La illah...there is no God, Sarmad was adamant.
The case was politicized and
Aurangzeb was forced to order to behead Sarmad. When the executioner pulled his
sword to behead him. Sarmad rehearsed the couplet...(Persian text)
Come hither, come quick. I
can recognize Thee in whatever disguise you may come.
The executioner cut his neck,
his head fell down and each and every drop of oozing blood was reciting Illallah, illallah. No more la illah.
Qalandar Baba Auliya used to
recite a stanza of Sarmad quite often amusingly. (Persian Text)
Sarmad, this grief of love is
not given to the lustful people. It is granted to them who consecrate and
sacrifice. It is not granted to one who has expectations.
(Persian text)
Passion of sacrificing its
life for the flame of candle in the moth hasn't been granted to the flies. The
flies haven't been given the emotion to sacrifice their lives, which is granted
to a moth.
(Persian Text)
For embracing the beloved, to
hug your chum, ages are required. Ages
are to be spent in sacrificing before one could embrace one's beloved. When
your beloved would see that you know how to sacrifice selflessly, he would come
to you and embrace you with love. And, this is such a blessing which is not
granted to everyone, it is granted only to the chosen ones. Who are the chosen
ones? They are the people who serve their fellow beings selflessly, the way Allah
is serving his creatures selflessly.
Qalandar Baba Auliya had
said, "When a person starts serving his fellow beings selflessly and
without wanting any reward, without any greed or expectations the way Allah is
serving His creatures, it pleases Allah so much that He lifts the person and haves
him in His Lap. Thus, by having expectations from the creatures you deprive
yourself from Allah's patronage. Have relations with the creatures but don't
have expectations. Having relation with the creatures is an obligation but
having expectations is disliked by Allah. Because all the resources that you
will get from the creatures are also the creation of Allah."
Thus, in the light of the
teachings of Qalandar Baba Auliya we are all duty bound to serve the creatures
of Allah, without expecting any reward in return.
You all came here from
faraway places and sacrificed your time, your comforts and money. I will pray
to Allah to accept your sacrifice and, according to the sayings of Qalandar
Baba Auliya, our expectations with the creatures may come to an end. And, the
target of our expectation be none other than Allah.
I think it's late enough and
you might also be feeling hungry. Waqar Sahib had been bit emotional in his
speech and said many things and, you might have felt that he had been
criticizing you. But that was true. When we see that despite spending so much
time with sincerity and hardworking and sacrificing for their mentor and,
having the passion to excel in service, our spiritual growth is limited. It is
sad. The reason of limitation of spiritual growth is the lack of desire and
passion to learn the spiritual knowledge. We do have love and passion to
sacrifice but the desire and passion for learning the knowledge of our mentor
is not enough.
When we admit our children in
a school. If the child is not regular in going to school and is not doing the
homework, he cannot be promoted to next class. So, all the members of Silsila
Azeemiya, all my friends, children, my sisters, my daughters all that are
present here or not, they must perform Muraqaba. They must make it compulsory
for them to perform Muraqaba no matter whether it rains or winds blow, someone
dies, husband is annoyed, wife is angry, kids are unhappy, anything may happen
but you will not leave your lesson and must perform Muraqaba.
Those who are present here
and those who are not here, give them my message that the progress of the
Silsila, it is mandatory for them that they must complete their lessons and
perform Muraqaba daily, whether you succeed or not. It is not for you to see
whether you are succeeding or not, you ought to do what you must do.
Once Qalandar Baba Auliya
said, "Khwaja Sahib never take off in Muraqba." Like you, I was also
not very regular in Muraqaba. He said, "Look! we don't have time. Sometimes
to exert influence of one minute, we have to wait for six months. But, when we
have time and are ready to feed, we find them sleeping so we have to get back."
One minute in six months, the treasure is lost only due to our irregularity and
not being punctual. Don't know when that one minute could be spared again.
How strange, we have meals
daily, have breakfast daily, go to office, send kids to school daily wash
clothes and bathe daily and do all sorts of things but cannot take out fifteen
minutes to perform Muraqaba. If we cannot spare fifteen minutes in twenty-four
hours to see our mentor, and to get his lights transferred to us then, what's
the use of being in the Silsila. As far as love is concerned, you have love for
me I, too, love you. You might be having more love for me and I might be
lacking in loving you but this is not the case. Love demands and the relation
of a father and the children demands that blessed children must get their
father's knowledge and unfortunate are the kids that leave the heritage of
their father.
When you have been admitted
in the Silsila, there is no doubt, nor it is boosting to say that it's the
blessing of Allah, Mercy of the holy Prophet (PBUH) and the good thing from
Qalandar Baba Auliya that you father is blessed with the treasures of Allah's knowledge.
You are not destitute. It is up to you whether you make a good use of your
father's treasures of Allah's knowledge, or your father leaves the world and
you live like beggars. I never hide anything nor I ever claimed of having a
thing which I don't. I have told you about the blessing of Allah granted to me
so that you might not think that you are the children of a poor father.
It is your duty to read and
memorize the Aims and Objectives and the Rules and Regulations of the Silsila.
I have asked Qazi Sahib, Mian Sahib and all the in-charges of Muraqaba Halls
that every member of Silsila must learn the Aims and Objectives and Rules and
Regulation of Silsila by heart. So that they could mold their lives in the
light of these Aims and Objectives and Rules and Regulations.
When Qalandar Baba Auliya
says not to be enraged because heat of rage eats up the enraged person then,
any Azeemi should not be angry. If Qalandar Baba Auliya says no hypocrisy
because, no hypocrite can be a spiritual person then no Azeemi is supposed to
be a hypocrite. If Qalandar Baba Auliya forbids to have doubts because, one who
has doubts in him, cannot be a Muttaqi and
one who is not a Muttaqi cannot
witness Allah nor he can cognize Allah. The lessons set for you and, the Aims
and Objectives and Rules and Regulation given in the book titled 'Tazkira
Qalandar Baba Auliya' have been written with great care.
An Azeemi must be
distinguished amongst tens of thousands of people. People should say he is a great
person. Love one another like brothers and sisters. Never gossip about others.
Don't say bad things about others. Never usurp rights of others. Don't have
expectations from others. If you can do something for others do it. Allah will
bless you abundantly. Spending does not decrease, it increases resources.
Misery decreases the wealth though, it appears to be increasing but actually it
decreases and it rusts the heart, which Allah has called His House.
Never love the world. It's
not that you shouldn't work hard and earn. Never love the world, Allah ignores
such people. All that is destined for you will get to you from Allah. You will
never be hungry, never be without clothes. Note down my words in your hearts,
in your diaries and in your registers that a true Azeemi will never be hungry,
never be without clothes, never be homeless and never be poor or penniless. I
may not be alive but you will remember what I am telling you. You must change
your thinking approach. You have treasures of knowledge and resources at your disposal,
and you have its experience too.
Mian Sahib a thin and lean
person, I asked him to build a Muraqba Hall in Lahore. He said, "Yes sure
Abba ji." He had nothing in pocket but the Muraqba Hall, Jama e Azeemiya
and the Mosque have been built. I asked Dr. Mumtaz to have a Muraqba Hall in
Attock, he said, "Yes but I don't have money." I said, "I am
asking you to build a Muraqba Hall not asking about money."
Now you see there is the Muraqba Hall in
Attock. I asked Tahir Jalil that I want a Muraqba Hall in Gujranwala. This time
he has reported that Muraqba Hall is ready and I may visit there. Likewise, in
Chiniot, in Faisalabad, in London and in Manchester we have Muraqba Halls. Dr.
Mumtaz Haider is here. They suggested and the Muraqba Hall in Manchester is
built there. What else experience you want to have? What other Mercy of Allah
you want to see? You are sitting in
Karachi. How big place Allah has given to you. People cannot afford 64 yards'
house. Construction of 120 yards house takes years. You don't get loan for it.
There is three acres land in Hyderabad for Muraqba Hall.
This means Allah has blessed
you with both worldly and immaterial resources. You are to make a good use of
these resources. And, the method to use these resources is not to take interest
in the resources but in the provider of the resources. Don't look at the wealth
of the father look at the father. Father will give you. How silly it is to give
importance to father's wealth and not to the father. Tragedy of Muslims and
their deteriorated state is only because that they have assigned great
importance to Allah's resources and wealth and have ignored Allah.
I think it's late enough. May
Allah grant you and me the strength to sacrifice for his creatures. Some due to
my illness have become worried. I say you need not to worry, I have a lot to do,
many tasks for Allah. Will go to Allah when He will call but it appears that He
is in no mood to call me soon. Although He is Omnipotent, it's all up to Him.
As far as my sickness is concerned, due to age factor and load of work I get
tired. And, whenever I feel sick, my enthusiasm is refreshed and my
capabilities are boosted anew. I think my old cells are replaced and changed
during my sickness so that I could work with new cells.
May Allah keep you happy. We
shall meet again next year, In sha Allah.
Come in more numbers. My only advice to you is to pay attention to learn the
spiritual knowledge.
I'll request all the in-charges
of Muraqaba Halls and others that make ladies and gentlemen to speak about
spiritualism and spirituality to boost them and they should bring forward such
people who have some potential in them. They must be able to speak in front of
people, they must also be able to treat patients and they must have humility
and forbearance in them.
Let me share one more thing
with you. Qalandar Baba Auliya had advised me never to indulge in argument with
anyone nor debate. One who argues or debates to understand a thing, he only
wants to overpower you by his arguments. But, remember we are nobody to
overpower anyone. We are already overpowered so, why should we debate. We are
to submit and say you are great, we are nothing, we know nothing, you know more,
we surrender. What we know, if someone is interested and wants to listen, we
can tell. If you will listen, we shall be grateful to you. And, you don't want
to listen, you have more knowledge. Don't insist and don't debate. If someone
listens, tell him and if he doesn't listen, don't accuse him nor try to impress
him by your knowledge. If someone listens tell him and, if doesn't listen,
don't bother.
When holy Prophet (PBUH)
invited people to him and people didn't listen to him and tortured him. He felt
bad and thought, what a life? What's the use of this life I am calling them to straight
path and want to save them from hell fire and they are torturing me. And, he
felt bad. Since Allah takes a good care of His Beloved, He revealed this verse.
(Arabic text)(Surah Ghashiya: 22) "We haven't sent you to be a warden upon
people." Your duty is to convey our message, who wants to listen, let him
and who doesn't want to, don't bother.
(Arabic text) (Surah Hood:
88)
Indeed Allah grants the
ability to understand and it is all up to Him to accept our efforts. When He
told His Prophet (PBUH) that you haven't been sent down as a warden upon them,
then who we are to exert our knowledge upon others? One who listens to you embrace him and who doesn't,
don't fight with him. Leave him on his own. If Allah will grant him the
understanding, and he would want to
understand, he will return to you.
Besides all that, you have to
maintain your spiritual identity and increase it. So far, the situation is that
theoretically we have advanced very much but are practically far behind. And,
we are lagging behind because we are not giving Muraqaba that much importance
which we should be giving it. And, all the instructions that are given concerning
Muraqaba, we tend to ignore them. Try and attempt to give Muraqaba that
importance which it deserves. Don't take off in Muraqaba. Never think that I have
seen this and that should be seen. What I have seen, why it is no longer seen.
This is nothing.
When a child is admitted in a
nursery class. The teacher teaches him a, b, c, d. The child never thinks what
is this a, b, c, d? He keeps on saying and reading and learning. If the child
starts searching the meanings of a, b, c, d, he won't be able to learn
anything. In a few days the teacher would be telling his mother that her child
cannot learn, take him away. He says why this is a, and why that is b and why
this c is c? Why this c is not d? He can't learn a thing, take him away. He
will spoil other kids, too. Take him away.
It is the main hurdle in
spiritual practice that one wants to see something and when this urge of seeing something is there,
it means his mind is not focused. It is just that one sees with open eyes and
the other wants to see it with closed eyes. The attempt to see remains there.
When the desire to see something is there, that means the mind didn't get empty.
Nothing is to be sighted. Just remain is the ecstasy of being with your mentor.
It is up to him whether he wants to show something to you or not. When he deems
it necessary, he will show me. I don't want to see anything. It is not a small
thing to remain focused upon one's mentor. This is something much better than
seeing anything. When one is trapped in wanting to see something and be a man
of wander-working, he loses the track and loses his way.
The very principle of
spirituality is to remain engrossed in one's mentor, attempt to see him and
remain thinking about him, to adopt his approach of thinking. And to consider
him everything. This is the rule of spirituality. When someone follows this
principle, Allah blesses him with success.
May Allah bless us with
concentration to imagine our mentor and adorn our souls with the knowledge of
the holy Prophet (PBUH) and Allah may bless us with His cognition and the
cognition of the holy Prophet and Qalandar Baba Auliya. Amen
Thank you!
