(Arabic text) (Surah Baqara:
30)
Respected ladies and
gentlemen, guests that have come from Britain, USA, and various cities and
towns of Pakistan who have come to listen and understand the teachings of Allah's
Friend; Qalandar Baba Auliya and devoted their time. The people of Karachi
deserve felicitations that after partition, Qalandar Baba Auliya chose to
reside in this city after founding of Pakistan and made it his resting place. Basic
concept of Qalandar Baba Auliya's teachings is that Allah has created man to remain
happy.
Allah had ordered the father
of mankind (Adam) to reside in Paradise on one condition of living there
happily with his spouse. Eat and drink with pleasure and live there with delight.
Adam made a mistake and fell prey to Satan. This caused unhappiness in Adam and,
since no unhappy soul can live in Paradise. So, God said, (Arabic text) (Surah
Teen: 5), that is, the atmosphere of paradise does not allow anyone to be
unhappy, worried, or repenting and demands only delight and happiness.
Allah says, (Arabic text)
(Surah Baqra: 35), that is, "O Adam reside in the Paradise with your
spouse and eat and drink as and from where you may desire, with delight and
pleasure. But don't go near this tree. If you disobey, you will be amongst the tyrant
transgressors. We have no idea for how many centuries Adam and Eve lived in the
Paradise happily. Then, Satan succeeded and tricked him to go near the
forbidden tree. When Adam neared that tree, it occurred to him that he had
committed a wrong. A mistake had taken place, he felt remorse. That regret
subdued his delight and happiness. Since the Paradise is an atmosphere of
delight and happiness, Adam had to quit the Paradise.
Qalandar Baba Auliya says,
God wants His creatures never to be unhappy. When the forefather of mankind disobeyed
and accepted unhappiness, Allah expelled Adam from Paradise. Allah told Adam
out of His Mercy, Benevolence,Forgiveness and Love for creation that you
committed a mistake and, as a law no one can stay here, if he is unhappy, so
you get down and regain your delight and happiness. If you could acquire
happiness, you will be able to get back to paradise again.
Human life has two sides.
Either the life is happy or is in sorrow and fright. Man is supposed to depend
upon the Mercy of Allah and never to lose hope in Allah. Thus, there are two
aspects of life i.e. happiness and sorrow. The life of joy and delight is the
Paradise. Life contrary to joy and delight is the life of sorrow, grief and
anxiety. It is the life of disobedience and wrongs. Those who succeed in
getting closer to Allah, they befriend Allah. And those who befriend Allah,
Allah says, My Friends don't have any sorrow nor any grief. (Arabic text)
(Surah Younas: 7)
It means that if someone wants
to get rid of grief and fear, the easiest way is to accept the atmosphere of
Paradise. And acceptance of the atmosphere of Paradise is not at all difficult
because Paradise is our real base. We have come from Paradise. And, this world,
as we all know, is a temporary station and we must leave it after a certain
time.
[Address stopped for a while
due to an interruption]
A strange happening is
mentioned in Tazkira Ghousia, by Ghous Ali Shah. People used to come to him to
ask for solutions to their problems. He used to either blow upon them or would
give them some amulet. Once a hooker came to him and asked him to give her an
amulet. He asked her, what kind of an amulet she wanted. She said, "My
work get better." Your work? I don't have anything for your work. The lady
said, you tell me where should I go, all good people go to Godly men, I am bad,
where should I go? This caused some embarrassment in Ghous Ali Shah and, he
wrote an amulet and told her to hang it over her door. When her work started booming,
she returned the amulet. People asked Ghous Ali Shah, is there an amulet for
that work too? He said, yes. What was inscribed in that amulet? People were
curious to know. He said go and check yourself. In short, the amulet was
opened. "O Iblees, help her out. Ghous Ali Shah," the inscription
read there. When the Satan was mentioned, he must have felt odd.
I was telling you that the
actual reality of man, the real abode and the real senses of man are of the
Paradise. Man means Adam. Adam committed a mistake and had to come down upon
the earth. When we analyze life, no matter how you analyze it, you will
conclude that there are only two aspects. Either one is happy or unhappy. There
is no third option.
And, second thing, when we
mention the Paradise, we know that there is no time and space in there. Allah
has said, (Arabic text) eat and drink as and from where you may wish...means
there is no space. The area of Paradise is not limited to a mile or two, it
spreads over million and billions of miles, so first thing, as and from where
you may desire means the entire area is given to the control of Adam and
secondly, the movement in this area is not possible with the speed with which we
are familiar. Here we can walk at the most three miles an hour. Obviously,
there are no planes in the Paradise. Obviously, it means the grip of time and
space over man is not there in the Paradise. His movements and the speed are
according to his will, like his soul.
When the soul of a pious man
wants to visit the mausoleum of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), it does so during
dreaming and, offer its prayers and salutations and return. But, if the same
journey is undertaken physically, it will take weeks and, if we go on foot, it
may take a year. Thus, it means the soul does not require a vehicle for its journey
and, there is no speed for its movements. It may move at a speed of 30 miles an
hour or 600 miles per hour. It all depends upon the intentions and the will.
In the paradise, as long as
Adam lived there, there was no physical body. There was the soul or the
heavenly dress upon the soul. Thus, our actual status is that of the Paradise
and the heavenly dress in the Paradise.
You might have read the
hadiths that there will be seventy thousand layers of dresses over the soul,
but they will be so delicate that the body will be still visible. It means our
sight will be so sharp and subtle that it will penetrate through all those
layers of dresses. The main idea of this Hadith is that the main difference of
life of Paradise and this world is the confinement. Man is bound in spatial-temporal
bonds here. Our sight cannot see over two hundred feet here. If our eyes are
covered even with a thin paper, the eye cannot see anything. Whereas, in
Paradise man witnessed the angels and the hoors
and, to top them all, he used to witness the Beatific Vision of Allah, too.
This makes two angles of the sight.
As I submitted, when we came
here from the Paradise, our life was divided into two aspects. One is that of
the grief, sorrow, and fear and, the other one is that of delight, pleasure and
happiness. Just like the two aspects of grief and delight, the sight also has
two angles, and its speed also has two types. Eating and drinking also became
of two types. For instance, you might have read that one in the Paradise when would
want to have an apple and whether there is any apple tree around or not, an
apple would be there in one's hand and, one would have it. But, here in this
world, unless a seed is not sown in the earth, it is not watered and, not
looked after for three, eight or five years, it does not bear fruit. And,
unless the fruits are not picked, you cannot have them. Whereas, over there you
don't need to sow a seed, nor to water and look after it. As and when you would
want to have some fruit, the fruit will be there before you for your
consumption.
We are told that honey and
milk canals will be flowing in Paradise. Milk streams through the udders of
cows and buffalos. The milk that we collect in the pots, Allah says about that,
Allah is He that draws milk through the dung. Look at the udders of a cows, the
system of intestines and production of dung and urine in a cow and, when the
cow's udders are pressed, milk streams out with its typical smell and
sweetness. And, then during Ascension of the holy Prophet (PBUH), he was
presented with milk. Gabriel said, that is the symbol of Noor, knowledge.
When we consider the canals
of milk upon the earth, it is not possible to have a canal of milk here. You
cannot collect this much milk that could flow in a canal. Then, there will be
honey canals. The honey is very much available here on earth, too. The honeybees
go and collect the nectar of flowers and bring it to the hive. And it takes
quite a lengthy process to form honey from the nectar. But Paradise has no room
for these lengthy processes. There you will desire, and the honey will become
available to you.
When we will try to
understand the difference between the atmospheres of Paradise and the world, we
will conclude that according to Allah and the holy Quran, there are two angles
or two aspects of life.
You might have not studied before,
all that I am submitting to you. I am presenting before you those teachings of
Qalandar Baba Auliya, which he taught me without any book and transferred to me
in disciplic-succession. So, listen to me very carefully. Since this is the
occasion of Qalandar Baba Auliya's Urs, I wish to teach and deliver a few of
his teachings to you. And, if you wish you may ask me questions. It will take
some time, but the entire life has already been spent so what if some part is
spent in good deeds.
So, now we know, our life has
two sides. One is that of the Paradise because before coming to earth, we used
to live in Paradise. This side of life in Paradise, the senses operating there,
and the intellect used over there, went wrong when the veil of disobedience
befall upon them. Senses are the same. If we used to drink milk in Paradise, we
do drink milk here, too. If we had honey in Paradise, we have it here, too. If
there are gardens, we have them here, too, to stroll in. If there were flowers,
we do have them here, too. There is no difference between them. The only
difference is that of the veil of disobedience covering our senses. If, somehow,
we could get rid of this veil, the very earth will also become a paradise for
us.
It's the saying of the holy
Prophet (PBUH), "Everyone is carrying one's Hell and Paradise with
him." If someone has the sense of obedience to God and, as the result of this
obedience, grip of fear and grief, sorrow, remorse, and anxiety will come to an
end. That means, he will get the senses of the Paradise remaining in this world.
If someone is happy in this world, it means, he is a soul of Paradise and, he
will definitely go to Paradise and, if someone is unhappy here, it means,
Paradise will not accept him. Therefore, he must get to self-accountability and,
after that, must adopt that pattern of thinking, which he had been using in the
Paradise.
So, what's the conclusion?
Conclusion is that man is living here in two ways. One is that of grief, fear,
despair, and sickness and, the other one, is of health, happiness, hope, trust,
association, and dependency upon Allah. It's the life that has been termed good
by the prophets of God. It is the life of fulfillment of those things that has
been taught to us by the prophets. This is the life of Paradise. And, if we are
living a life contrary to the instructions of the prophets of God, that life is
the life of Hell. May God protect us all from that life. Life in Hell is very
painful and horrible. A view of Hell, even for a short while, only of a small
part of it, even like that of a mustard seed, would be devastating. It's a
great blessing of God that if He has kept the Paradise under cover, He has kept
the Hell, too, under a cover. Otherwise, people would have died of its fright
and the entire world would have finished.
When God sent Adam down here,
he was told that his eternal abode would be returned to him provided that the
mind of disobedience and senses of the disobedience could be gotten rid of and,
the mind and senses of the obedience are adopted. This was also arranged that God
will keep on sending His Servants, intermittently, who will keep on telling us
the difference between the senses of the Paradise and Hell and will keep on
guiding us.
God is keeping His Promise. He
established a chain of prophets of God starting from Adam. There is a catch in
this grant of prophet-hood to Adam. You must understand it carefully. This will
help you to understand the difference between the senses of Paradise and the
Hell, too. Adam and Satan both committed disobedience. Adam was thrown out of the
Paradise and the Satan was also removed away from God. See! both things are
going parallel. You also know that the knowledge taught to Adam was much more
than what both the angels and the Satan knew. Angels had said that You are
appointing him Your vicegerent but, he will shed blood. But Allah taught Adam
the knowledge of the Appellations and after teaching him that knowledge, asked
him to display that knowledge. When he had demonstrated that knowledge, God
ordered them all to prostrate before him, as a token of their submission to him.
But Iblees refused to obey God's command.
(Ok. the food is ready. The
guests from Karachi and Hyderabad will remain sitting in their seats and, the
guests from Europe and other cities will go and come back, after having their
dinner. When they will come back then, we the Karachites, being their hosts
will dine later. So, we shall remain seated, and the other guests will go. We
shall have our dinner later.)
Please, no noise! Leave quietly
and make no noise. Noise is also not liked by Allah. God says, talk softly. Keep
your tones low. He likes soft and sweet voices. Donkey is also a creation of
God, but God doesn't like its sound. He says that He doesn't like loud and
yelping voices. What this meal is. All have been swept away because of it. Our
brethren from all around the world are our guests. We ought to serve our
guests. Ibrahim was known for hosting guests. If there hadn't been a guest, he
would not have his meal and, would go out to search for a guest. Hosting is a
prophetic quality.
I am quite in a mood of
delight as it is the Urs of Qalandar Baba Auliya and, secondly, guests from all
over the world, from America, England, Canada, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi
Arabia and from all cities of Pakistan have come here. It is a great honor for
us that God has sent so many guests for us. Ask them to be quiet. I'll continue
with my speech. Alhamdulillah, how
very delightful it is for me that we didn't leave our place for the sake of our
guests. This shows the discipline of the people of Karachi and their love for
their guests. May Allah bless us with more courtesy and love for our guests and
may enable us to host more and more guests.
So, we were talking about the
Knowledge of Appellations. But, before that, I would like to clarify, I am not
lecturing you. There are my elders and younger ones to me. I am just talking to
you. It is not a speech and there is no topic of this discourse. When it is
said, he is a great scholar and what an orator, what a speech he has delivered.
This weakens the subject. When two friends or two brothers talk together, it is
certainly different from a speech. Mutual talks settle in mind more easily.
We all know that God blessed
Adam and his species with superiority over all other creatures. Superiority
means that all the creatures in the heavens and upon the earth are less
knowledgeable than Adam. If any of the creatures excels in knowledge than Adam,
it will be superior to Adam and Adam will become inferior to that.
Molana Room has written a
strange thing in his Masnavi. Once the holy Prophet (PBUH) asked Gabriel, the
message that you bring to me from God, from where did you receive it? He said,
what God tells me I bring it to you. Holy Prophet (PBUH) asked him, have you
ever seen Him whose message you carry to me? Gabriel said, I cannot go beyond
the limits of Bailul Mamoor (the
Extolled House) and, if I will try to go beyond that, my wings will burn.
Molana Room Says, (Persian
text) The increased brightness will burn my wings. If I'll exceed my, limits my
wings will burn and I will be finished. Holy Prophet told him when next time
you hear the voice, fly towards it with my intercession and courage. When
Gabriel heard the voice of Allah calling him to deliver God's message to His
Prophet (PBUH). He focused his mind upon the holy Prophet (PBUH) and started
flying towards the voice and went beyond
Baitul Mamoor and his wings didn't burn. He came to holy Prophet (PBUH)
bewildered and amazed. The Holy Prophet asked him, what happened? He said, “I
saw the same Noor there that I am witnessing
in you”.
It has been mentioned in the
Biography that Archangel Gabriel could fly beyond Baitul Mamoor only because of the intersession of the holy Prophet
(PBUH) and his correlation with him. When Adam was mentioned, the angels had
submitted to God, we adorn You, we worship You in all our reverence and, if You
are creating him so that he could worship Thee, we are enough to do that. God
didn't say, no you are not right. He called in Adam and asked him to
demonstrate the knowledge that He had taught Adam. When Adam displayed that
knowledge the angels submitted, (Arabic text) (Surah Baqara: 32)
"O our Lord, we know
only what You have taught us." And they prostrated before Adam. This means
Adam was made superior to angels because of the knowledge that God had granted
him.
I just submitted before you,
that there are two characters before us; one is that of Adam and, the other one,
is that of Satan. When Adam knows more than angels, he obviously knows more
than jinns, too.
Then, God asked Iblees, I had
asked you to prostrate before Adam, why did you disobey? Bear in mind, Adam had
more knowledge than Iblees. But, the Devil Iblees said, (Arabic text) (Surah
Airaf: 16), You kidnapped me, you abducted me. (Arabic text) (Surah Airaf: 16),
"You deviated me from the straight path."
Obviously, that arrogance
couldn't be liked by anyone. God is too great. After that Adam also committed a
mistake and went closer to the forbidden tree. Bear in mind, Adam's knowledge
is much more than any other creature; Ibless, jinns and angels. Allah asked
Adam, I had forbidden you to go near the tree, why did you do so? Adam didn't
say, you created the world, and you wanted me to go there, if I hadn't
disobeyed, how could have I gone into the world and how could the population of
the world had increased? And how could you have sent so many prophets? No, he
didn't say anything like that. But said, (Arabic text) (Surah Airaf: 23). O'
our Lord, indeed we transgressed and, have been tyrant to ourselves, if you
didn't forgive us, we shall be amongst the losers." Please forgive us,
otherwise, my entire generation and my life will be wasted.
See the character of Adam.
His knowledge is far more that Satan. Satan is arrogant. Adam is humble and
expressed his humility. And, how Adam was rewarded for his humility? Give it a
thought. Allah liked the humility of Adam and made one hundred and twenty-four thousand
prophets in his descendants. And, so much so, he blessed one of his descendants
with so much love and said, I had created Noor of Muhammad before I had
created the universe.
But, in contrast to that, see
the arrogance and haughtiness of Satan. There they bear only Satan and Devils.
No prophet, no Godly man, no pious person has ever been born in them. Curse and
only curse is there upon them.
Thus, you have two characters
of life before you. A person living in Paradise, if commits a mistake, his
character is to be humble before his Lord, he repents and asks for forgiveness
and penitence, knowing that entire universe has been created by Allah and, God
wants this world to be inhabited but, still does not utter a word that may
displease God. This is the main difference between the prophetic approach of
thinking and that of the Satanic approach. When you see there is anger in a
person, there is arrogance, when he commits a mistake, he tries to justify it,
instead of repenting and expressing remorse, you can easily conclude that the
Satanic character has been transferred in him. But, opposite to that, if you
see humility, humbleness, politeness and kindness and the readiness to serve
the creatures, you can safely say he is adorned with the prophetic approach of
thinking and that of a friend of God.
Entire life of a person, from
Adam to the last man or woman born ever, has two aspects or two sides. No one can
get rid of these two sides. One side is that of Paradise and, the other one is
that of the expelled one from the Paradise. After expulsion from Paradise, we
have become confined in limitations of senses. Our sight, ears and our thinking
and our houses are all limited. You might have heard that there will be seventy
palaces in Paradise. Seventy means there is expansion. An expansion you cannot
make a comparison of any worldly place with that. A palace with seventy
rooms...remaining in this world you cannot compare it with any worldly palace
or house. It is entirely different than all that we see here. Thinking approach
and the senses operating in Paradise are altogether different than the ones we
are familiar with here in this world.
We must understand two things.
One is the senses of Paradise. When did we come here in this world after
getting out of the senses of Paradise? You tell me. I had told you that there
will be question answers. We were in Paradise. Why did we come here?
Audience... Because of
disobedience!
Disobedience is a sort of sense
just as obedience is also a sense, which we call the sense of Paradise.
Similarly, disobedience of God is also a sense, which is the sense of this
world. But we cannot say that after disobedience of God, we have been totally
deprived of the sense of the Paradise. If we had been deprived of the sense of
the paradise permanently, we couldn't return to paradise. And God is
Oft-forgiving.
Once Qalandar Baba Auliya
narrated an incidence concerning God's forgiveness. It was quite a strange incident.
These are spiritual talks and are not supposed to be related to common people
as it may be taken wrongly. But here we are at our own. If you don't understand
anything you can ask questions, I'll explain them to you.
Once the holy Prophet (PBUH) was
sitting with his companions. Holy Prophet (PBUH) smiled, the smile increased
and then he smiled so much so that his teeth were visible. It is said that the
holy prophet (PBUH) seldom smiled or laughed so that his teeth could be seen.
His companions understood that he must be in a special state of revelation.
Anyway, when he was attentive to his companions, one of them asked him. "O
the Prophet of Allah, you smiled three times and there is a glee upon your
face, if you deem it appropriate, and consider us worthy of sharing it with us,
please tell us, what made you so delightful?
Holy Prophet (PBUH) said,
"Brother Gabriel had been here. He was talking to me." That means
Gabriel also used to visit him other than bringing Revelations and, had a chat
with him and, holy Prophet (PBUH) used to address him as brother. Gabriel had
so much closeness to him. The holy Prophet (PBUH) told his companions, Gabriel
had been here and, he was talking about old times, old stories of past and old
prophets. I asked him to relate to me some odd story of his experiences.
Gabriel told me, God hadn't sent an apostle for a long time. He thought that's
been quite a time that God hadn't sent an apostle to the earth. When He sends
an apostle, he, too, have a chance to get in touch with God to carry His
messages to His apostle. He had no contact with His Lordship. So, he thought of
praying to God to send an apostle on the earth so that he could also be in
touch with God. Gabriel said when he got attentive to God, and had not started
praying yet when he heard God saying, Labaik..labaik...labaik...("I
am here...I am here...I am here.")
He thought that someone is
calling God and God is answering to his call. Instead of praying he set on searching
for that person to whom God is responding so dearly. He searched though all the
worlds but couldn't find him. Then he searched through the heavens and there
too he couldn't find him. After failing, he again got attentive to God, God was
still responding to that person. He again searched through the universe but, he
couldn't find him. He decided to ask God. When he turned to God, he found Him
saying, 'Ya Abadi Labaik.' (O my man,
I am here.) Gabriel said, so it was confirmed that there was some person to whom
God was talking to directly. So, Gabriel supplicated to God, "I want to
see that person, with whom you are talking to so dearly and for so long. I have
searched the entire universe, but I couldn't find him" God said,
"Look there in that temple." Gabriel said, "I saw a strange
scene. There was a temple. a man was lying there in front of a statute and was
calling onto God." I said to God, "You have said that you will not
forgive two sins, people's rights and worshipping pagans. And there cannot be
any infidelity more than worshipping a pagan and, it didn't occur to me, so my
mind didn't go to that temple." Then, God asked Gabriel to look there, and
he saw that man was jolting that statute and saying, "I spent my entire
life in calling you and you never even for once answered me. But, when I called
onto Allah, He responded and said...ya abadi..." And, then he lifted that
statute and threw it out.
This all is the blessings of
Allah. Allah wants to see sincerity, certainty, and humility in men. Allah is delighted
to see men living in fraternity. Can you deny that mankind is not the family of
Allah? Allah has no children. Would a father like to see his four or eight sons
fighting amongst them. Then, how can God like His creatures fighting amongst
them, slaying one another or have hatred for each other and teasing one another?
That means torturing others and inflicting pains upon others, causing others unhappy
and remaining unhappy are all Satanic acts.
This approach of thinking is
against the prophetic approach of thinking. This is the way of life to be abolished.
One hundred twenty-four thousand apostles of God were sent from amongst men so
that people couldn't say they were angels so how could we follow them? Prophets
were born like any other human child. They used to eat and drink like any other
person. They used to go to markets, did businesses like any common men and they
married as well so that man could not say they were supernatural people, how can
we follow them?
Consider the life of holy
Prophet (PBUH). Those who have studied the biography of the holy Prophet (PBUH)
or, when you study it, you will notice a thing that will tear your heart apart,
mankind never allowed him to live in peace his entire life. He hadn't asked for
a house or business. The infidels asked him to stop speaking against their
pagans and they would accept him to be their king, with whomsoever he would
want, they would wed him there or whatever he might want, they would provide
him but, he should just stop speaking against the pagans of their ancestors.
Holy Prophet (PBUH) said,
"I wonder what has happened to your logic, the statutes can neither talk,
hear, walk nor can even hush away a fly sitting upon them, and you are
considering them gods. You are calling the statutes gods that you have carved
by your hands."
No Muslim is unaware of the
tortures inflicted upon holy Prophet (PBUH) by the people of Makkah and
Quraish. When he visited Tiaf and preached. They said, the lunatic had come and
casted so many stones on him that he bled and his shoes were socked in his
blood. But he didn't curse them. Prophets before him did curse their nations
and they were destroyed. The people of Aad, Samood, Lut, and Noah and many
others were destroyed. But holy Prophet didn't curse anyone ever. And, how
could he have cursed them?
Allah has said Rabbul Aalimeen for Himself and listen
carefully what a beautiful thing it is. Alhamdulillahy
Rabbul Aalimeen. All the praises are for Allah; the Lord of the worlds. Rab,
the Lord is the one that provides resources for the worlds, the provider of
sustenance, is the maker of the heavens, the suns, and the earths. In short, He
provides resources for keeping all the creatures alive in all the worlds.
Haven't you seen water flowing both upon the earth and underground. In my
speech in London I had said, tell me how much water you consume daily, has God
ever sent you any bill for it? Have you ever received a bill from the sky that
you have consumed this much air so make this much payment? Everything is free,
oxygen is free, air is free, water is free, trees are free. The wheat that you
eat, have you ever paid anything to Allah for it? Allah created the first seed
of wheat; did we pay Him for that or was that for free? You put the mango
kernel in the soil, and you eat the mangoes for the rest of your life. Just by
putting one kernel in the soil you have so many mangoes, that is, God is
providing resources for everything.
Creation of resources is one thing,
and the distribution of the resources is another thing. God, as the Lord of the
worlds is creating the resources. And, for the distribution of the resources,
such a person is needed who is balanced, neutral and unbiased. One who is
unbiased must have mercy in him. If mercy will not be there, anger will be
there. When mercy will not be there, impartiality cannot be there. God says, I
created all the resources that were needed for feeding the worlds. I, being the
Creator do not require anything to eat, drink or wear, neither do I wed, nor do
I have kids. Someone familiar with these things is required for the distribution
of the resources. One who knows what hunger is, what the food is for, what the
thirst is and what the spouse and kids are. Only he can distribute the resources
amongst the creatures. Allah said, "O my beloved, I am Rabbul Aaalimeen...
I create the resources."
(Arabic text) (Surah Anbiya:
107) "And, We did not send you but to be the mercy for the worlds."
You have been sent so that
you can distribute the resources with mercy in the worlds. I created the
resources free of cost, but their distribution does require a system; some
mechanism of distributing them. Since I do not eat, drink nor do I have spouse,
O my beloved Mohammad (PBUH) you feel hunger, thirst and you are wedded and have
kids, too. You did the business, and you fell sick and recover, too. And all
this is being creature. We sent you as a mercy with all the traits of a
creature for the worlds so that you could distribute the resources amongst the
creatures with a neutral mind, loving heart and mercy. And distribute the
resources in such a manner that the creatures must not suffer from the dearth
of air or water, nor they may think that distribution is in the hands of such a
deity who has no sense of hunger or thirst.
All the apostles that came,
were the creatures. Has an angel ever been sent as an apostle or prophet? My
question to you is, why did God send one hundred twenty-four thousand prophets
amongst the men? Why didn't He send any one from angels or jinns? Tell me!
No... please raise your
hands.
Ok yes ...
One of the audiences who was
asked to reply said...
So that no one till Doomsday
could say that we couldn't follow an angel.
Another one replied...
Since God had blessed Adam
with superiority over all other creatures and had taught him the Knowledge of
the Appellations...so God sent prophets from amongst the men. And God liked the
humility of Adam.
One of the audiences said...
Because there are no Muslims in jinns. On this Mr. Azeemi corrected him saying,
No, there are Muslims in the jinns.
Those should raise their
hands who still feel unsatisfied.
(Few of the audience raised
their hands.)
This means those who haven't
raised their hands are satisfied. Yes?
Once I read a joke about Mula
Naseeruddin. He was forced to be on the stage, to give sermon, which he never
wanted to. Upon reaching the stage he greeted people and asked them, "Do
you know what I have to say?" The people said, "No, we don't
know."
He said, "Well then, why
should I talk to them who do know what I have to tell them. So, there is no use
talking to you. Goodbye"
People were amazed to see his
cleverness. They decided to invite him again and if he asked them the same
question, they would say yes to his question. So, they forced him to address
them. He went to the stage again and, after greeting the audience asked, "Do
you know what I am here to tell you?"
"Yes sir, we know!"
The audience replied, as decided.
Mula ji retorted, "Well, when you already
know, then why should I waste my time in explaining, which you already know."
And left the stage.
People were amazed and they
consulted one another and decided that half of them would say, yes we know and,
half would say no, if Mula ji asked the same question next time.
And again requested him to
come and give them a sermon. When people forced him and, he went up to the
stage, he again asked the same question. People responded as they had decided.
Half of the audience said, yes, we know and the rest of them said, no, we don't
know.
On hearing this Mula ji said,
"That's great, it solves the problem. Those who know, please tell those
who don't know." And quickly left the stage.
Likewise, only half of you
have raised hands.
I had asked this question
about Adam's superiority from my august mentor, Qalandar Baba Auliya, what was
the special quality in Adam. Jinns were there. The system of universe was also running
even before Adam. When Allah asked angels and jinns to prostrate before Adam
that means angels and jinns both were there. They all prostrated before him
except Iblees, who said that he was made of fire so he was superior to Adam that
was created from mud and clay.
On this Qalandar Baba Auliya
had said, "No, this is not the case. Actually, there is gradation and
stages when a system is made. For instance, take the system of electricity.
This electric system is based upon the turbines installed in dams and the
electricity is generated. From there it is transmitted to powerhouses through
thick wires. Then it is put into high tension wires and is supplied to grid
stations. From grid stations, it is supplied to transformers, that cut it down
to 220 volts and bulbs in your house lit up. But if you put that bulb directly
onto the turbine what will happen when the ten thousand volts current will run
through that bulb? It will burn away; it will melt down or will burst out. This
means the formula to use and supply very high power is to cut it down gradually
and provide it stage by stage."
Allah has stated in the holy
Quran, (Arabic text) (Surah Noor: 35) "Allah is the Light of the heavens
and the earth."
To understand this, you may
say that light is the metaphor of the electric current. And Allah is the
current of the earth and the heavens. Keeping the complete system of turbines in
mind, if this entire current is directly supplied to the universe, the entire
cosmos will blow out. So, to run the system God made this law. Since nothing
can bear His great power, there must be a medium between the creatures and the
Creator. A medium that may bear the load of His grandeur, His sublimity, His
power, His might and may supply it onto others. So, first He created the holy
Prophet (PBUH) and granted him the power to bear His entire force and might.
Mind of the holy Prophet has the power to withstand the load of Allah's
currents.
For instance, when Allah said
Kun and by saying this the entire
universe came into being. Now, there must have been someone to withstand the
power of kun. When God said kun, mind of the holy Prophet (PBUH) absorbed
this force and Kitabul Mubeen (The
Book Open and Manifested) was formed. Then this force and power was distributed
and Loh-e-Mehfooz (The Preserved
Scripturum) came into being. From there this power was distributed to angels
and from there it was supplied and distributed into the earth and the heavens,
and the creatures were formed.
So, this is the situation. The
Holy Prophet (PBUH) is second to Allah. And this very thing has been said by
Mulana Room. (Percian text) If anyone is worthy of greatness after Allah, he is
the holy Prophet (PBUH). Since this system and the law is made by Allah, holy
Prophet (PBUH) has become the medium between the creatures and the Creator. Thus,
because of his becoming the medium, prophet-hood was supposed to be inherited
by his children, his progeny, his tribe, or the species. Then all the prophets
of God that were sent here, read their scriptures whether it is the Torah, the
Psalms, the Bible and so much so the book ascribed to Krishana; the Bhagvat
Gaeta, all have said that a savoir will come after us. You must follow him.
That is, in order to introduce His Medium; the cause of creation, in millions
of years Allah sent one hundred and twenty-four thousand apostles of his
species. All these one hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets of God, kept
on announcing that a Savior will come...a Savior will come and when that Savior
came. He said and you know it well, "I am not saying anything new. I am
telling you what my brethren prophets had been saying. Every prophet of God
said, a savior would come but holy Prophet (PBUH) didn't say any such thing.
Allah says in the holy Quran.
(Arabic text) Surah Maida: 3)
"I completed the system
and the knowledge for my beloved Mohammad (PBUH). Not only that I complete the
knowledge, but I am very pleased of his services and performance."
May Allah grant us the
ability to follow in the footsteps of our holy Prophet (PBUH). Amen
May Allah bless us with the
benefits of the teachings of Qalandar Baba Auliya and grant us the ability to preach
to others. Amen
