Annual Address of Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi 27th Jan 1999

(Recitation)

(Arabic text) (Surah Baqra: 1-3)

Respected Audience, Ladies and Gentlemen, Honorable Elders, Dear Friends and Lovely Children!

The whole day I have been hearing words of praise about myself and people kept on devising titles for me. This might be right that young people are praising their elders. But when a person considers himself, thinks about himself with reference to his past, present and future, he can clearly see that man is a toy, which is wound up by the time. If the toy remains fully wound up, it keeps on running, hopping, skipping and jumping but when the wind exhausts, it loses all it's worth.

Nowadays, a variety of toys are available in the market, which are controlled by remotes. These toys are powered by energy. If the toy does not have wind or power in it, it cannot move. Same is the case with humans. You may take this power or energy as soul. As long as the energy or power is there or, in other words, the soul is there, this human toy keeps on moving. And, when this power exhausts, man becomes like a windless toy. This wind or power in the human toys is not visible nor is one who is winding him. It is not in man's hands; he cannot wind it up nor can finish it at his will.

No one can deny that man can work without being wound up. Basic thing in the human life or the human-toy is to have feelings and sentiments that become urges like having food upon feeling hungry, drinking water on getting thirsty. Sometimes he is sad, at times he is happy, at times he is wealthy, at times he is poor, at times he is a beggar and sometimes he is an emperor. This sadness, delight, riches and poverty, to be a beggar or be a king is only possible when there is wind in him. This wind is invisible, according to man's conscious, man has named this unseen wind as 'thought'. Man, drinks water when thought occurs to him. Man eats food, when a thought comes to him. He marries when a thought comes into his mind. He has kids when the thought of kid occurs to him. He brings up his kids when the thought of rearing them comes to him. Goes to office in a hast when thought about going to office occurs to him. Upon receiving a thought, he labors or does business.

Not one of the six billion people can deny that if a thought about doing something is not there, he cannot do anything. Mashallah we have a huge gathering. There are thousands of audiences. I'll request you to tell me a single thing that can be performed in one's sixty, seventy, eighty or hundred years of life without having a thought about it. Just one thing. Think! There are audience in their seventies, sixties, fifties, forties thirties and twenties. Have you ever done a single thing without having a thought about it in your life? Raise your hands! Think! Search in your mind! You won't find an action that could be performed without having a thought about it.

This is such a big reality that you cannot do a single thing without having a thought about it. But you don't know what the thought is? And, you also don't know from where does a thought comes, or do you know? When you cannot have food, drink water, go to the office, send your kids to school or marry without having a thought about it then, why you have never tried to understand this big reality? Or what a thought is or from where does it come?

Such a vast ocean of ignorance and man is so helpless. His intellect doesn't assist him in determining where the thought originated and what the thought is. Can anyone tell? Say yes, or no?

Audience... No!

When we cannot perform any act or do any movement of life without having a thought then, what is this praise and admiration? Azeemi Sahib did this service and that work. He wrote books. Azeemi Sahib did well. What Azeeni Sahib did? If it had not occurred to Azeemi Sahib, what could he have done? Azeemi Sahib has written a few books, what if no thought had occurred to him? If there had been no thought, books aside, he couldn't have written even a single line.

This means, man is nothing here. What nature wants him to do, he is supplied with thoughts, according to the nature of the assigned task that he should do this, he should do that. He must build a hospital, he has to make a mosque, a cinema, a shop or a house. Man has no worth of his own. You have heard about the birth stage. Look at your birth. You have no idea where you will be born? Why you have to be born? Whether you have to be born at all or not? Have to be born in a poor or a royal family, in chamar or some better cast. If one had any idea, everyone would have wanted to be born in a royal family. No one would have liked to be born in a poor family. And poor would not have children at all. Then, you also have no idea where you would be born? Whether you would be an English, Muslim, Jew or someone else. Whether to be born in India or some other country? No idea.

Thus, when we think, no movement is ours and no movement is possible without a thought then, from where does the thought come? What is the thought? No idea!

It is said that thought means information. You assign meanings of information to the word 'thought'. So, we can drive at the conclusion that this also comes into our mind from Allah that how should we understand it?

We can take the entire universe as a drama. Allah has made this universe a drama. There are characters with their roles to play in this drama. One of the characters offers Prayer and the other doesn't. Third one watches movies. So on and so forth. Finally, you will conclude that the universe is divided into groups and classes. This class system is based upon thoughts. One thinks of construction. The other one thinks of destruction. One rejects the thoughts of destruction and accepts the thoughts of construction. The other one rejects the thoughts of construction and accepts the thoughts of destruction.

Acceptance or rejection of a thought is also based upon thoughts. Negation of a thought is also a thought. For instance, a person has the thought of going to the cinema. On his way to cinema, he hears Azaan and thinks of going to mosque. The question is, a man who was heading towards a cinema, why did he go to the mosque? What motivated him to go to the mosque? He had the thought!

A man gets out of his house to offer prayer. Sees a friend on the way. His friend suggests going to cinema to watch a movie and, he abandons the thought of going to mosque and goes to the cinema. Why did he go to the cinema instead of mosque? He had the overriding thought of going to the cinema.

You see, man is nothing but a constant negation. It occurred to me that I should write a book. This thought kept on recurring. Finally, I picked up the pen and paper and started writing. Don't know from where the train of thoughts started pouring into the mind, in an order and arrangement. Pen kept on writing. Neither the mind tires nor the hands and, after some time, the book is there. When for the first time you held the pen in your hand and started writing on the paper, you cannot deny that it was directly due to a thought. Had the thought not been there, you couldn't have held the pen in your hand nor could have written anything.

There is a system of Allah to run this universe. In order to run the universe, Allah has devised a system that is based upon inspiration. An entire system of inspiration is made thereof. Man receives a thought to do this or that. Either man accepts that thought and starts working or rejects that thought and starts doing something else. Then, where does man stand?

Allah has stated this thing very elaborately in the holy Quran, (Arabic text)

Those who are blessed with the acquaintance of Allah's Knowledge, they become aware of Allah's Knowledge and, they say that everything is from Allah. Can you say Satan is not from Allah? When Satan came into being, did he come into being by himself or Allah created him. Then man was created. Allah created him. Beasts, cattle, birds, insects and all the creatures were created. Angels too were created. All were created by Allah. Allah made a system and He Himself is running the system.

Once Qalandar Baba Auliya told me. It is very important to note that in the Administrative System of Allah, man is like a puppet. The way a puppet is tied to various strings and movements in the puppet are produced by moving those strings. There are twenty thousand strings attached to every man. Each string is held by an angel i.e. movements of a man are controlled by these angels. If a man moves his hand and the concerned angel doesn't move the related string, man's hand will not move. Man rubs his chin, if the angels don't move the strings, his hand cannot rise to his chin.

In short, every man is a toy in the hands of these twenty thousand angels, or to say, there are twenty thousand keys installed in man. Unless these keys are not turned, man cannot move. When there are twenty thousand angels just imagine how many angels are here in this auditorium. This is how Allah made this system. Then where is any chance of man's doing anything at his own. Man is nothing. Everything is Allah.

Now the question is, when everything is Allah then, what is this virtue and sin, good and bad? These are also creations of Allah. For instance, one hundred twenty-four thousand Prophets of Allah came to this world. And, if they had not introduced man with the concept of good or bad, mankind would have never known the difference. A goat, sheep, cow are not familiar with good or bad therefore, they are free from reward or punishment as well. This also is Allah's system. Man, in the first place and jins, on the second place, are the only creatures that are blessed with the awareness of good and bad, through the thoughts. As far as the good and bad are concerned, things that are liked by Allah for mankind are good and, the things that are not liked by Allah for the mankind are bad.

For instance, a goat gets into a farm stealthily and grazes there. No case of theft is registered against it. Why not? Because the prophets of Allah didn't make it aware of the concepts of good and bad. Prophets only acquainted man with the concept of good and bad.

When you will delve deeper, every individual of mankind will be forced to accept that man is nothing. He is born where Allah Wills. Lives as many days as Allah Wills. Resources which Allah provides to man; he makes a good use of them. And, when Allah Wills him not to live any longer, he quits.

The same goes for the resources, which includes money. If Allah had not created gold, the currency would not have been there. Allah created gold; a metal and inspired mankind that it can be used as currency. Man declared gold a currency under this thought and the currency came into being. Now using this currency, man is trading. Likewise, no scientific invention could have been possible without using the resources created by Almighty Allah. Resources already exist in the world. Research and exploration enabled man to gather a few things together to form something new. It has never happened that man could have made something without using the available resources.

The same is true for our food items. Wheat, potatoes, rice, fish, wood for cooking, oil, gas, electricity, water, rain, sunlight, moonlight and herbs to treat diseases etc. which of these things didn't exist before man's advent on earth? Please give it a thought and tell me. Do you make these things, or they are already made available for you? If Allah had not created wheat, air, water and food items, man's existence would not have come under discussion.

Consider it again. What role do you have in the creation of sustenance, the resources for living? Did you create water? Did you make air? Did you make wheat-seed? Tell me one single thing, which of these have you created? Deliberate further. You have no control over your birth. But, before you come into this world, all things of necessities are made available for you. It has never happened that man himself has arranged resources for his necessities after his birth. Everything pre-exists. When I was born, the earth upon which the house is made already existed. Milk, which helped in my growth, was already there. My parents were there for my protection. When I grew up a bit and gained the ability to eat, the wheat, meat, vegetables were already there for my consumption. Cotton from which my dress was made, was also there. The land, upon which I cultivated, was already there. The market where I made a shop was already there. Business or the laboring also pre-exited. Tell me, what did I make after my birth for myself? Tell me honestly about one single thing. Then, what is a man? What is he? Nothing. Allah created him at His Will and created all those things, which He wanted him to consume. Had Allah Willed, man would have been drinking kerosene oil instead of water. Allah wanted us to drink water, so He created water for us and we started quenching our thirst using water. Allah created meat as our food, we started consuming meat. If Allah had Willed, we might have been eating stones like an ostrich.

I am tired of delivering speeches. Enough is enough. So let us try another style of conversation. It is to think and understand. You tell me, what is man? Does he have any control over anything? What did he create for his support and can say that this is the thing which I have made for myself?

Only one thing can be said, nothing exists except Allah. The way Allah Willed He created man. He placed the ears on the sides of the face, eyes are placed below the forehead, nose is placed below the eyes to make the man. It's been billions of years that man is made the same way. Extended nose of an elephant; it’s trunks, is specific for elephants. Two hands of a cow are made its forelegs, two hind legs with its extended back parallel to earth makes it a cow. Man is made to stand up right. Man, also has two hands, two legs. Cows also have two hands and two legs. Birds are given two wings with two legs. Its two wings are its two hands. It means, man has no control over his appearance and formation. The way Allah has fashioned man, he is being formed on the same pattern. He might be varying in his color, might have a bit longer, flat or thick nose and his eyes can be small, large or conical but, he will remain a human being in every part of the world because overall he has a likeness in his form and features. Cows are like one another; birds are like each other and an ant is like an ant.

Man says, I did this, I did that, I achieved this. Don't know what this 'I' is?  You all are Mashallah literate and sensible, can anyone of you stand up and explain to me what this 'I' is? Don't we say, 'I ate', 'I drank', 'I slapped', 'I gave charity', What is this 'I'. This 'I' can only be discussed when you have got something of your own, over which you have any control, and you can use it. Nobody wants to die but, still dies. No one wants to leave the wealth after accumulating it but, ultimately, he is forced to leave it. Must leave the children and has to leave the parents. Must leave the house. If 'I' have built a house then, why am 'I' leaving it? When I am 'I' and I don't want to die then why do I expire?

So, it can be concluded that this world is a deception, a character, nothing more than that. If a character plays well in a drama, it is said to be good and if a character is bad, all will call it bad. The character man is performing is neither good nor bad. One is known for his character. When one gets to know that he is merely performing a character, reality transpires upon him. And, as long as man remains oblivious of this thing, he remains under the impression that man is all in all. It never occurs to him that he is not even able to be borne by himself nor has any control over his death. He doesn't want to die but still must die. I also want to remain young but still I must grow old. Teeth fall out, eyes get cataract, legs bend, knees start hurting and finally man drags towards death. What conclusion will you draw from all these things? Yes, what is the result you inferred?

Man is nothing. When man is nothing then who is something, the One who has fashioned man?

(Arabic text) (Surah Teen: 4-5) Man is the best of My creation but has degraded himself into the low of the lowliest. What does the 'best of creations' mean? It means that amongst all the creations of Allah, man is the only one who can comprehend Allah's system. Allah has blessed him with the ability to understand His system, if he wants to. And, if he doesn't want to understand Allah's system, then no one can be more tyrant, ignorant and ungrateful than him. No one is a greater refuter of the system than him.

Allah gathered all the angels and told them that He wants to appoint a vicegerent on earth. The angels submitted, whom you want to appoint Your vicegerent, he will create mischief and shed blood upon the earth. What does this mean? It means, angels had witnessed chaos and blood-shedding upon the earth before. They knew that the creature before Adam had been mischievous. And when they saw that this creation was being created from the same ingredients, which were the elements of the creatures before Adam, that is, the jins.

Allah didn't say, no, he will not be mischievous and will not shed blood. Rather Allah taught Adam the Knowledge of His Appellations, His Attributes. Allah Taught Adam the secrets of the universe. He taught him creative formulae. He taught him about the Will of Allah that is operating in the universe. And, asked Adam to demonstrate what he had been taught. When Adam displayed the learned knowledge, angels said, “We know only what you have taught us. He knows much more than us. Therefore, on your behest, we submit and surrender before him”.

A small group of jins refused to accept Adam's rule over them. It resulted in their rejection by Allah. Their rejection indicates that they bypassed the knowledge of Allah but, the angels upon seeing that Allah has blessed Adam with special knowledge, accepted Adam's supremacy. A group of jins didn't accept Adam's supremacy, that is, they refused to acknowledge the granted knowledge. Due to this rejection Allah rejected Satan; Iblees. Or to say, Iblees refused to accept Adam's supremacy because, he didn't give any importance to the knowledge granted to Adam nor did he try to understand it.

The story proceeded and Adam came down upon the earth. Jins already inhabited the earth. Adam's population increased as did Iblees's. The group of jins that did not accept the knowledge given to Adam were all rejected or was there any other reason for their rejection? Yes? Then, if the children of Adam didn't accept the knowledge granted to Adam, where do they stand? It's too bitter. Let it sink deeper. Why were the jins rejected? They were rejected because they refused to acknowledge the blessing of Allah. And, when the children of Adam didn't accept the knowledge of Adam, didn't learn that knowledge, what difference remains between Iblees and the children of Adam?

Audience... No difference remains.

So, what could be our final abode? Where do we stand? All is well. But where do we stand?

Adam's knowledge about which Allah has said, (Arabic text) (Surah Baqara: 31) Adam was taught the knowledge of all Appellations and then the angels were asked, tell if you are right.

The angels replied, (Arabic text) (Surah Baqara: 32) Glory to Thee, we know naught, we know only what You have taught us. And they accepted Adam's supremacy on this ground. Iblees didn't accept and was rejected. And, if children of Adam didn't learn and didn't search for that knowledge then what's the difference between Adam's children and Iblees?

When someone is adorned with the light of the knowledge of Appellation, believe me, the 'I' abolishes from him. He becomes aware that nothing exists here except Allah and, only that happens what Allah Wills. Qalandar Baba Auliya used to say, Prophetic approach of thinking is that they never mention anything with respect to them. A prophet always thinks care of Allah. Recite this verse again, (Arabic text) (Surah Aly Imran: 7) Those who get to know the knowledge and become firm in their knowledge, they are equipped with insight and vision, and they are acquainted with the knowledge of the Appellations, they declare that they believe that everything here is from Allah. When everything is from Allah and Allah is All-Wise and All-Seeing, He is watching all.

When do we commit a sin? When we are sure that no one is watching us. But Allah is watching us all. Yes, or no?

Audience...Yes, indeed!

Then, how do we commit a sinful thing? It means we are lying. We are verbally saying that Allah is watching but, we actually are not believing that Allah is watching us. We refrain from committing a wrong thing when someone is watching us then, how can we commit a sin when Allah is watching us? Verbal statement is one thing and believing something is altogether another thing. When insight and vision is there in a person, he observes Allah in every state like eating, drinking, sitting, standing and moving around.

Qalandar Baba Auliya told me that once a mentor gave his disciple a cock and asked him to slay it whence no one is watching him. He took the cock, slew it in a hidden place and brought it back in a short while. The mentor called another of his disciples and handed over a cock to him and asked him to slay it whence no one is watching him. The disciple took the cock and went away. He went in the morning, noon passed, afternoon went by, evening fell and then the night set in. Next day, he returned with the living cock, held under his arm. Mentor asked him in a stern tone, you good for nothing, you took the whole day and night and still couldn’t slay a cock. The disciple replied that he was asked to slay it whence no one was watching. I tried everywhere. Wherever I tried, I saw Allah watching over me. I couldn't find a place where Allah wasn't watching over me. So, I couldn't dare to slay it because you had asked me to slay it whence no one was watching me. I couldn't find a place, so I brought it back.

When is it possible to see that Allah is watching? It is only possible when you want to see Allah. When someone, keeping the heritage of Adam in view, learns the knowledge of Appellations from Allah, witnesses’ angels and the Satan, can he commit something which Allah dislikes? He has witnessed Allah, learned the knowledge of the Appellation, seen the angels prostrating before him, has seen them being rejected who refused to acknowledge Allah's blessing. The heritage of Adam doesn't mean that the knowledge learned by our father; Adam cannot be learned by his children. If the children of Adam cannot learn the knowledge of the Appellations, they are the most unfortunate and unlucky children.

There is a king. The King’s son doesn't accept his father's kingdom and is begging in the streets with a beggar's bowl in his hand. Can you say that such a child is a blessed child? This spiritualism teaches us that Adam means to be acquainted with the knowledge of the Appellations. (Arabic text) (Surah Baqara: 31)

If one doesn't know the knowledge of Appellations, one is not worthy to be called Adam's child. He can be a dog, cat, mouse, eagle or sheep but not Adam. Adam's child means that the heritage of Adam should be transferred to him.  It has already been transferred to you. Your nose, eyes, feet and hands are like Adam. You are being inspired like Adam. The concept of good and bad is given to you. One hundred and twenty-four thousand prophets out of Adam's children proved by undergoing the hardships that no sacrifice is big enough to have the blessings of Allah.

Allah blessed Abraham with a child in his eighty second year of age. Just imagine, in his eighty second year of age, he had a child. He waited eighty-two years for a child. When the child grew up and started to work with him. Allah asked him to slay his son. Abraham obediently did what he was asked to do. That is another story that Allah accepted his sacrifice and saved his child. But Abraham fulfilled his commitment. It didn't occur to him that he just had a dream, and he shouldn't be slaying his son. Why did he do that?

The logic is the lesson of sacrificing for Allah's sake. Whereas we cannot spare even that much time, which is required to clear the primary classes. We do say that mankind is restless, anxious, and has fallen prey to ever new diseases but, the question is how much we strived and struggle for the blessing, which is the heritage of Adam. When you have deprived yourself of your father's heritage, how can you claim to be the children of Adam. You don't deserve to be a human being; you are an animal. Animals have babies. What if we also have them? Animals feel hungry, so do we. They drink water, so do we. They arrange to safeguard them from heat and cold, we also do that. They build their nests and places to live in, we also make houses. Their mothers feed their babies, so do our mothers. A cow carries its baby in its womb, our mothers also carry their children for nine months in their wombs. They do all that is necessary for the upbringing of their children, we also do the same. Then, what's the difference between man and animal? On what grounds you are superior to animals?

It's a matter of great consideration. Are you superior because of intellect, senses or sensibility? Dogs have much finer senses. The dog that catches heroin just by smelling, costs Rupees seven to eleven hundred thousand. And man is so helpless that to catch his brothers, seeks the help of dogs. Man cannot smell the odor of heroin but, a dog can. So where is your superiority. If you could construct your house, have you ever seen the beehive? Has any man ever built such a house? You say you are superior to a pigeon; can you fly like a pigeon? You fly in an airplane, but can you fly by yourself? A pigeon doesn't require a plane to fly.

Man cannot prove by any chance that he is superior to animals. If he is superior to animals, his superiority is because of the knowledge of Appellations, which he can acquire being his heritage. And, if man fails to acquire the knowledge of Appellation, which is the heritage of his father; Adam, he cannot be superior to animals. He is only superior because of that knowledge and those abilities which haven't been granted to any other creature in the universe. Angels or jins cannot learn, nor any other creature can learn them.

If you talk about peace and say man is superior because of his peace. Be judicious, birds have more peace or you? Cattle are at peace or man. Who sleeps more peacefully, man or cattle? Let's check on the diseases. Who falls ill more often, man or animals? Please compare and decide.

No matter how hard you may try to prove that man is better than other creatures, man cannot be better except that he strives and struggles to learn the knowledge of Appellations, the heritage of Adam. If man doesn't attempt to learn that knowledge, he cannot be different from animals. When a person learns the knowledge of Appellations, this secret transpires upon him that me or you, one, two, ten twenty are nothing. Everything is Allah.

When this thing establishes in the mind that nothing exists here except Allah. This is the stage whence man befriends Allah. When a person doesn't know Allah, how can he be a friend of Allah? And what does it mean to know Allah. Knowing Allah means to know the Attributes of Allah. If you don't know the properties of an apple, you cannot know an apple. If you don't know the qualities of a reddish, you cannot know it. If you are not familiar with the properties of water, you don't know the water. If you know a person whose name is Zaid, but you have no idea of his qualities, you cannot be his friend. There could be a hundred thousand people by that name but the person with whose qualities you are familiar, can be your friend. Since you know his qualities, he is your friend. Twenty or fifty Zaid cannot be your friends. If a person is not familiar with his own qualities, he cannot even be his own friend, how can he be able to befriend Allah?

The thing that I have understood in today's session is, if a person doesn't have the knowledge of the heritage of his father Adam's knowledge of Appellations, he is not worthy to be a human being, or is he? Is he or not? Say it loudly.

Most audiences...No, he is not.

When you are not a human being, what are you? Come on, tell me, what are you? You are animals. And animals can't go to Paradise. Paradise is for animals or for humans. When a person hasn't entered the sphere of humanity, how can he enter paradise?

As far as the eating and drinking is concerned that is available for all. Allah is providing food to all, be it a cat, dog, lion, eagle, crow, insects, fish. He is providing us, too. They eat it raw; we consume it after cooking it. On what grounds are we superior to other creatures? Tell me at least this much.

Audience... The knowledge of Appellation!

Do we have that?

Audience...No!

Then what we are?

You become PhD, may it be in any field, that's great but you didn't learn the knowledge of Appellations. Where do you stand? You may have a status here in this world, but this knowledge will not work in the hereafter. If you studied chemistry here, it won't work in the hereafter. You became an engineer, doctor or a scientist. This knowledge will not be of any use in the hereafter, or will it? Only that knowledge will be of some use after death, which provides the basis of friendship with Allah. And the basis of Allah's friendship is the knowledge of the Appellations. (Arabic text) (Surah Baqara: 31)

Allah says that He taught Adam all the knowledge of His Attributes. And, since Allah is the Creator therefore every Attribute of Allah is a creation. This means, Allah taught Adam the knowledge and formulae of creation. This is what the spiritualism is all about.

There are people doing Meditations. Meditation Centers are opened, and Yoga and thousands of books have been written and thousands and thousands of centers are working but, this knowledge of Appellations is not discussed there. This knowledge is a science, and science is also a knowledge. Spiritual sciences are also knowledge. The purpose of the chain of one hundred and twenty-four prophets of Allah and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is to acquaint mankind with the knowledge of Appellations. If the mankind didn't equip itself with the knowledge of Appellations and left the heritage of Adam aside and ignored it, (Arabic text) (Surah Alhaj: 11), they are the losers here and the hereafter. May Allah grant us the ability to learn this science.

What's the time? Oh, It's 12 o'clock. I think we should finish. Yes? What do you say? Do you want to listen more?

Ok. MashaAllah You listened to me. Next year we'll have such a gathering again, in sha Allah. If someone has any questions to ask, you may please ask. For a while, we can have a question answer session.

Question: How can the knowledge of Appellations be learned easily?

Answer: Easiest method of learning the knowledge of Appellations is to become the children of Adam. If you ask, what is the method of becoming a prince? Being son of a king, you have to do what the king is doing, and you will be the prince. If you are the son of king but involved in stealing and theft, you cannot be a prince. Be the son of Adam. Heritage cannot be discussed if you are not the son of your father. We are only at par with animals like cattle and Allah hasn't taught this knowledge to cattle. Allah taught this knowledge to Adam and to get the heritage of Adam, we have to be his children. And Adam is known because of the knowledge of Appellations. If one doesn't have this knowledge, one is merely an animal, not Adam. Any other questions please!

Question: What is the difference between studying Quran and learning the knowledge of Appellations?

Answer: What does this mean? What does it mean to study the Quran and learn the Knowledge of Appellations? The Quran is all knowledge of Appellations. The Quran is nothing but the knowledge of Appellations. All that Allah has said in the holy Quran is in the ambit of knowledge of Appellations.

There was a man sitting in the court of Solomon. He said, the throne of Sheba will be here before you could wink an eye. And the throne came there. Courtiers were astonished. He said, nothing to be amazed, (Arabic text) (Surah Namal: 40) I possess Knowledge of the Book. Because of that knowledge, he could bring that throne in its physical form from a distant place.

Basically, the Quran is the knowledge of Appellations. When you learn the knowledge of Appellations, you will understand the holy Quran. When you will not learn the knowledge of Appellations, you will not be able to understand the Quran.

The Quran has been revealed for humans and the humans means the one who has been taught the knowledge of Appellations. No other creature has been blessed with this knowledge. What exactly are Sufism, Spirituality and Mentorship? This all purports to one thing that search such a teacher who could acquaint and teach you the knowledge of Appellations, at least that much, which he has learned. If someone is not familiar with this knowledge, he cannot be a teacher. How can he be a Mentor?

Anyone else have any questions?

Question: if the thoughts are inspired by the angels, then, what's the role of Satan?

Answer: I just told you. If the thoughts have individuality, contains 'I', it's all Satanic. If there is Allah in your thoughts that's all Godly. If you are having bread and say that I am having bread. This will be Satanic. But, according to spiritualism if you say, Allah fed me with bread, this will be Godly approach. You have water and say I drank water. Where is 'I'? There is no 'I'. If you have this thing in your mind that Allah made me drink water. He created water before creating me and blessed me with the ability to drink water, so I drank water. In this way the entire process will be for the sake of Allah. You have kids and you are bringing them up and say these are my kids. How they can be yours? They are the creation of Allah. If you are rearing them up so that you be known. And they be your support in your old age. Who knows, they will be or not. That will make it Satanic. But if you are rearing them up that Allah has given you the responsibility to bring them up according to the thinking pattern of the holy Prophet (PBUH) and Allah then the entire process will become for Allah. That child is indeed your child. And the most amazing thing is that if you brought them up for the sake of Allah, they sure will be a support for you in your old age. But, if you bring them up so that they will be your support in your old age, 99% chances are that they will not be a support for you.

Where there is Allah, all is Godly. And, where one's personal self gets involved, that makes it Satanic. Due to this very 'I' Iblees was rejected. He said, why should I prostrate before Adam. I am better than him. I am made of fire, and he is made of clay. He failed to understand that fire is to burn things. Flowers grow in the soil. Have you ever seen flowers growing in the fire? But the 'I' of Satan overpowered his senses and he disobeyed Allah and revolted against Him. Allah had taught Adam the knowledge of Appellations and when Adam committed the disobedience, he didn't say what Satan had said. (Arabic text) (Surah Airaf: 16) You abducted me and carried me away from the straight path and then you are asking me that why I didn't prostrate before Adam?

Adam is much superior to Iblees. Allah had taught him the knowledge of Appellations. When Allah asked Adam, I had forbidden you to go near that tree and still you been there. What's your excuse? Adam submitted, (Arabic text) (Surah Airaf: 23) O' our Lord! Indeed, we did wrong with ourselves, please pardon us.

See the difference. Iblees had been arrogant. He stubbornly accused Allah for his misappropriation that Allah wanted him to be like that. Adam didn't say any such thing. Adam didn't bring his 'I' in between. He abolished his ego and expressed his humility and humbleness and, Allah excused him. This forgiveness resulted in one hundred twenty-four thousand prophets in the progeny of Adam and the holy Prophet (PBUH) among the children of Adam was made the most beloved of all. Only because Adam negated himself and didn't let his 'I' come forward. As long as this 'I' remains operative in man, he remains haughty and arrogant. But when he negates himself, abolishes his 'I', his haughtiness is removed. And one who has haughtiness, he has the desire for power and authority, which is nothing but haughtiness. And the one who has no desire for power and authority, he knows that sovereign power and authority belongs to Allah. No one is capable of sovereignty except Allah. This 'I' destroys man. 'I' is nothing here. Allah is all and everything. Therefore, all you do, do it for the sake of Allah. Because, in reality, there is nothing except Allah.

Chant ya Allah, ya Rehman, ya Raheem with me. Then, we shall perform Muraqba for a while and, then we shall pray collectively, and the session will come to an end.
