Annual Address of Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi 27th Jan 2017

                Recitation

(Arabic text)

"And, Allah is the Planner, administrator, and Fashioner of the creative system. Best are His Names. Everything in the heavens and the earth is celebrating His praises and He is Exalted in might and All-Wise." (Surah Hashar: 24)

* After delving into the universe, the sun, the moon, stars, countless worlds, the earth and skies and the creatures therein, it is concluded that Allah is the Omnipotent and Knower of the Unseen. And, not one but countless universes are the manifestations of the will of Allah.

* Nothing is by itself. Everything is a demonstration of Allah's Lordship and Creativity. These things require profound thinking. They may appear to be related to the routines of our ordinary daily life but there is depth in them. Centuries passed by and people did not notice them and if they did, their minds remained overshadowed by doubts and dubiety.

* There does not exist any creation that is immortal, permanent, stable, or is free from change. Everything from a particle to the celestial body is changing. There is the change in the sun, the hiding of stars, the appearance and disappearance of the moon, the light of the day, darkness of the night, life and death, grief and delight, anxiety and calmness, certainty and doubts etc.

Creatures cannot be one. They have to have a mother, father, brothers and sisters and have to have a family. If there is no delight, grief cannot be there. If the grief is not there, there cannot be delight.

When the basis of a thing is taken into consideration, everything that is being manifested here is growing, decreasing, increasing, appearing and disappearing. When a child is two days old, his first day disappears. When a child is one and a half years of age, this one and a half year vanishes. Have you ever seen this appearance and disappearance? Have you ever given it a thought?

Where were we before coming into this world? We appeared here. When the first day disappeared and the next day appeared. When the third day appeared, two days vanished behind a veil. Thus, the hidden thing vanishes in this game of hide and seek and becomes obscured from sight.

When did a man grow to be forty years old?

Audiences...in one voice...When his forty years have vanished.

Can we see forty years? Can you recognize the picture of your childhood in your forty-first?

Everything is based upon the mechanism of appearing and disappearing. If a sperm is not continuously appearing and disappearing, how will it become a form and a shape of a man? If the food is not vanished, how will it provide energy? We get energy from what we eat. Where did the food vanish, no idea. Where from the energy appears and disappears, how does it increase or decrease? No idea. Do you have any idea?

Now, what I am about to tell you, is with the permission.

Where was man before coming into this world?

Audiences...in the Unseen!

And, when he is born, where has he come?

Audiences... into the manifestation.

And, when he grew to be two days, where did his first day go? Came from the Unseen and went into the Unseen. Then, the third day appeared and the second day went into the Unseen. And, when he becomes eighty years of age, he passes away from this world.

From where did he come?

Audiences..from the Unseen

What are you?

Audiences... the Unseen!

When you are a part of the unseen, can this part not see the Unseen?

Audiences.. loudly... yes, it can!

Has anyone seen the Unseen? According to my information there are about eight thousand audiences sitting here and this address is being live telecasted in many countries.

Sighting and disappearance, disappearance and sighting, that is, when Seen and Unseen are being witnessed then, why can't we see and why don't we see?

According to Molana Rome, (Persian text)

Man is only sight, rest is flesh and bones. And, the sight is to see the friend.

In order to understand this secret, take it like this. You emerged from the Unseen. Then Seen went into Unseen. Seen again emerged from the Unseen and vanished into Unseen. And, this chain of appearance and disappearance reached a stage where no more worldly steps are available. How many alternations of Seen and Unseen happened during the age of forty years? You emerged forty(40) time and went into the Unseen for eighty(80) times.

Unseen 40 ....Seen 40....Unseen 40

Unseen 80 times and appearance 40 times

The question is then, what's the reality of man?

Audiences...loudly....Unseen!

What is Unseen?

(Arabic text) Allah is the Unseen. When we are created by the power and lights of Allah, we are associated with the power and mercy of Allah. I am talking about the soul, not the biological relationship. I am talking about soul. What is the soul? Soul is an attribute of Allah. I want to ask you, we were present before Allah before coming to this world. Every day we appear before Allah, twice a day. We appear in the world and finally go before Him in the Unseen. Allah says, (Arabic text) (Surah: Hadeed: 3)

"He is the First, The Last, the Manifested and the Unseen, the Evident and the Hidden."

(Arabic text) (Surah Namal: 25)

"He knows all that you hide or display."

What is delight and grief?

All that is according to our mind and wishes and gives us pleasure, is useful to us or is the cause of respect for us etc., is delight for us. If we have a lot of money we are happy and if we don't have it, we are unhappy. Analyze the alternation of happiness and unhappiness and tell which of the two is dominating us? The worrying aspect always dominates the life of such people.

(Arabic text) Indeed the friends of Allah neither grieve nor have any fear. One who believes in Allah and has faith in Him is the friend of Allah and the identity of the friend of Allah is that he neither has fear nor has any grief. When sorrow and fears are excluded from life, what will remain? Fears and grievances do not allow us to be happy. Are we more happy or sad?

Audiences... we have more grievances.

When grief is more, lesser is the delight, the more is the delight, the lesser is the grief.

God told Adam, Paradise is your heritage provided that you eat and drink with delight as and from where you may desire but don't go near a particular tree. Imagine, there is a big house with every luxury in it. Master of the house tells you all is yours in that house but forbids you from approaching a particular cabinet in there. And tells you, if you ever go near that cabinet, you will no longer be able to reside in that house. What does common sense demand?

Audience... not to approach the cabinet!

If the cabinet is opened, you will not see anything except illusion in there and you will become homeless.

In order to have an understanding of the life of Paradise, you have to have an understanding of the difference between man and human being. Man is related to animals. All his routines are similar to those of animals. Eating, drinking, sleeping, awakening, the building of houses, producing kids, rearing them up, protecting them, sensing the danger of the enemy, fighting back, feeling the heat and cold, which of these are there in the animals and not in mankind. You say a man has more intellect. Are all children of man intelligent?

The Quran has named many of its Surahs after animals and has mentioned their intellect.

God presented His Trust before the earth and the heavens. The earth and heavens means the creatures of the earth and the heavens. The Trust was also offered to the mountains. They all very humbly denied to accept the Trust but the man accepted it. Note that the word 'human' is used here, not the Adam.

This means that there are two categories, man and human. Human is the best creation of God, is the vicegerent of God, enjoys the Trust of God, and angels have prostrated before him. And, man is mud, mire, stench, resounding clay and the sperm. Man is superior in the animal kingdom and human is the most superior creation in the universe.

We search for gold and silver but seldom think about our status in the universe. This gold and silver is the soil of earth, grass, vegetation and fruits are the soil of the earth. We are also soil of the earth. Human is not, he/she is the best of the creations.

It is said that man is a social animal, he is capable of being articulate. Are the goat, cat, dog, horse, elephant, lion deaf and dumb? Even the grass and fodder converse. Everything chants the name of Allah. When we are asleep in the morning the birds chirp to celebrate His praises.

(Arabic text) (Surah Bani Israel: 44) "There is nothing that is not celebrating His praises but you know not of their chanting."

Find the difference between animals and humans. These things have been elaborately explained in the books on spiritualism. These books have been written so that they can be read and pondered upon and change you. If a nation doesn't want to change itself, even God doesn't change them.

(Arabic text) (Surah Raad: 11)

"Fact is that God does not change any nation unless they don't change their characteristics."

We have taken the world as everything and have deprived ourselves from the blessings of Allah. But, not giving due consideration to the world is also foolishness. Islam does not allow hermitic practices. Even the goats and cattle do not live in seclusion. Have you ever seen them sitting in the caves? They come out in the morning from their shelters, graze and drink, play, and go back. They have their kids and they nurse them.

Islam is to live a simple life by acting upon the teachings of Allah and His prophet (PBUH). Eat well, wear well and live in neat and clean houses. Cleanliness is half of the faith. Cleanliness is having faith with certitude.

The light, which my august mentor Qalandar Baba Auliya has transferred to me by the grace of Allah and kindness and mercy of the holy prophet (PBUH), I wish that my children be acquainted with it. After ponderous thinking, make this faith a certitude that this body is merely a dress of the soul. The body operates through the soul. If we are not acquainted with the soul, this body of stench will not go to Paradise.

May Allah bless us with the ability to act wholeheartedly upon the teachings of Qalandar Baba Auliya; the spiritual son of the holy Prophet (PBUH). Amen.

Summary:

* Nothing in the universe is exiting by itself...All is a manifestation of the Will of Allah.

* When the habit of thinking is not there, thoughts hide behind doubts and dubiety.

* The life system is based upon the mechanism of the Unseen, Seen and Unseen. Man cannot be displayed, if he/she is not disappearing.

* Creatures are nothing but the Unseen. And, what is the Unseen, we are not aware of it.

*Actions of our choice is happiness and disliked acts are unhappiness for us. If the happiness is there, why doesn't it sustain itself? And, if there is unhappiness why it converts into happiness? Our definition of happiness and unhappiness is fictional and hypothetical.

* Friends of Allah don't have fears or grieves. They believe that everything is from Allah.

* The result of a life spent in disobedience is nothing but Illusion and misapprehension.

* Man is superior to animals and humans are exalted in the universe.

* Witness through profound thinking that the body is a dress and is under the control of the soul.
